Translation · EN

Qatadah: "Indeed, Allah loves the quiet voice and the pure heart."

His saying: "My bones have weakened."

13030 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "My bones have weakened," he says: [They have] grown frail.

13031 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "My bones have weakened," he said: The emaciation of the bone.

His saying: "And never have I been, in my invocation to You, my Lord, wretched."

13032 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And never have I been, in my invocation to You, my Lord, wretched," he said: "You used to accustom me to granting [my prayers] in the past."

13033 - From Ibn 'Uyaynah regarding His saying: "And never have I been, in my invocation to You, my Lord, wretched," he says: "I was made happy by invoking You, even if You did not grant [the request]."

His saying: "And indeed, I fear the kinsmen (al-mawali) [from behind me]."

13034 - From Sa'id ibn al-'As, he said: 'Uthman ibn 'Affan dictated to me from his own mouth: "wa inni khiftu al-mawaliya" (And indeed I fear the kinsmen), written with the diacritical marks—meaning with a Fathah on the Kha and the Fa, and a Kasrah on the Ta. He says: I said: "al-mawaliya."

13035 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And indeed, I fear the kinsmen (al-mawali) from behind me," he said: "The heirs, and they are the man's agnatic kinsmen ('asabah)."

13036 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "And indeed, I fear the kinsmen from behind me," he said: "The agnatic kinsmen from the family of Jacob (Ya'qub). There was a boy behind him, and Zechariah was from the descendants of Jacob." In another wording: "Ayyub (Job)."

His saying: "[He] who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob."

13037 - From al-Hasan regarding His saying: "[He] who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob," he said: "His prophethood and his knowledge." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "May Allah have mercy on my brother Zechariah; he had no heirs, and may Allah have mercy on Lot; he would seek refuge in a firm support."
