13059 - From Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "Morning and evening," he said: "He commanded them to pray in the morning and in the evening."

His saying: "O Yahya (John), take the Scripture with power."

Regarding His saying: "O Yahya, take the Scripture with power," he said: "With diligence." And "And We gave him the judgment while yet a boy," he said: "Understanding."

13060 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Take the Scripture with power," he says: "Act upon what is in it of its obligatory duties."

13061 - From Ma'mar ibn Rashid regarding His saying: "And We gave him the judgment while yet a boy," he said: "It reached me that the young boys said to Yahya ibn Zakariyya (John son of Zechariah): 'Come with us to play.' He said: 'I was not created for play.' This is his saying: 'And We gave him the judgment while yet a boy.'"
