The saying of the Most High: "Painful"
11501 - Ahmad ibn 'Amr ibn Abi 'Asim al-Nabil narrated to us, my father narrated to me: 'Amr ibn al-Dahhak, my father narrated to us, Shabib ibn Bishr reported to us, Bishr reported to us, 'Ikrimah reported to us, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding the saying of God: "A painful punishment," he said: Everything that is agonizing.
The saying of the Most High: "He said: She is the one who solicited me for myself"
11502 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And he rushed toward the door, and they both found her master sitting at the door, he and the cousin of the woman. When she saw him, she said: 'What is the recompense for one who intended evil for your wife but that he should be imprisoned or a painful punishment? She solicited me for myself, so I pushed her away from me, and I tore his shirt.' Yusuf said: 'No, rather she is the one who solicited me for myself; I refused and fled from her, and she caught up to me, took hold of my shirt, and tore it on me.'"
The saying of the Most High: "And a witness from among her people testified"

11503 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, 'Abdah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Abu Sa'd al-Baqqal, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "And a witness from among her people testified," he said: An infant in the cradle. It was also narrated from al-Hasan, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, and al-Dahhak something similar.
The second view:
11504 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq reported to us, Isra'il reported to us, from Simak ibn Harb, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "And a witness from among her people testified," he said: A man with a beard. It was also narrated from Mujahid that he was a man.
