13403 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he read it as: "I almost conceal it from Myself," saying: "Because it is never hidden from the Self of Allah, ever."
13404 - Al-Suddi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us, saying: "There is no one among the inhabitants of the heavens or the earth except that Allah has hidden the knowledge of the Hour from them. And in the recitation of Ibn Mas'ud, it is: 'I almost conceal it from Myself.' He says: 'I hide it from the creatures, so much so that if I could hide it from Myself, I would have done so.'"
13405 - Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us, saying: "In some recitations: 'I almost conceal it from Myself.' He said: 'By my life, Allah has concealed it from the nearest angels and from the prophets and the messengers.'"
13406 - From Warqa', who said: Sa'id ibn Jubayr taught me how to read it: "Akada ukhfiha" (I almost conceal it), meaning by placing a fatha on the alif and a kasra on the fa', meaning: "I disclose it." Then he said: "Have you not heard the saying of the poet: 'Two months and then a month, damika... / What do those two damikas conceal from 'Umayr?'"
13407 - From al-Sha'bi (may Allah be pleased with him) and Ibn Shubruma, who said: "It was only called 'hawa' because it throws (yahwi) its companion into the Fire."
13408 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding the staff of Moses: "He said: One of the angels gave it to him when he headed toward Madyan. It would shine for him at night, and he would strike the earth with it, and vegetation would come forth for him, and he would shake the leaves of trees with it for his sheep."
The Saying of the Exalted: "It is my staff; I lean upon it."
13409 - From Ibn Zayd regarding His saying: "It is my staff; I lean upon it," he said: "When he walked with his sheep."
13410 - From 'Ikrimah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "I strike the trees with it for my sheep," he said: "I hit the trees with it, and the leaves fall from it onto my sheep."
13411 - From 'Amr ibn Maymun regarding His saying: "I strike the trees with it for my sheep," he said: "'Al-hash' (shaking) is that a man beats the tree with his staff, and the leaves fall."

١٣٤٠٣ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّهُ قرأ: أكاد أخفيها مِنْ نفسي يَقُولُ: لأنها لا تخفي مِنْ نفس الله أبدا «١» .
١٣٤٠٤ - حَدَّثَنَا السُّدِّيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: ليس مِنَ اهْل السماوات والأرض أحد إلا أخفي الله عنه علم الساعة وهي في قراءة ابن مسعود أكاد أخفيها مِنْ نفسي يَقُولُ: أكتمها مِنَ الخلائق حتي لو استطعت إِنَّ أكتمها مِنْ نفسي لفعلت «٢» .
١٣٤٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: في بعض القراءة: أكاد أخفيها مِنْ نفسي قَالَ: لعمري لقد أخفاها الله مِنَ الملائكة المقربين مِنَ الأَنْبِيَاء والمرسلين «٣» .
١٣٤٠٦ - عَنْ ورقاء قَالَ: أقرأنيها سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ أَكَادُ أُخْفِيهَا يَعْنِي بنصب الألف وخفض الفاء يَقُولُ: أظهرها، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أما سمعت قول الشاعر
دات شهرين ثُمَّ شهرا دميكا ... مَا دميكين يخفيان عميرا «٤» .
١٣٤٠٧ - عَنِ الشعبي رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وابن شبرمة قَالَ: إنما سمي هوى لأنه يهوي بصاحبه إلى النَّار «٥» .
١٣٤٠٨ - عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عصا موسى قَالَ: أعطاه إياها ملك مِنَ الملائكة إذ توجه إِلَى مدين فكانت تضيء لَهُ بالليل ويضرب بها الأَرْض فيخرج لَهُ النبات ويهش بها عَلَى غنمه ورق الشجر «٦» .
قَوْلهُ تعالى: هي عصاي أتوكؤا عَلَيْهَا
١٣٤٠٩ - عَنِ ابْنِ زَيْدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: هِيَ عَصَايَ أتوكؤا عَلَيْهَا قَالَ: إِذَا مشي مع غنمه «٧» .
١٣٤١٠ - عَنْ عكرمة رضي الله عنه في قوله: أهش بِهَا عَلَى غَنَمِي قَالَ:
أضرب بها الشجر فيتساقط منه الورق عَلَى غنمي «٨» .
١٣٤١١ - عَنْ عمرو بن ميمون فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَأَهُشُّ بِهَا عَلَى غَنَمِي قَالَ: الهش:
إِنَّ يخبط الرجل بعصاه الشجر فيتساقط الورق «٩» .
