His saying, the Exalted: "And they cut their hands"
11556 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas: When Yusuf went out before them and they looked at him, they began to cut their hands with the knives. He said: This is the saying of Allah: "And they cut their hands." He said: They were thinking they were cutting food.
11557 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And they cut their hands," meaning cutting them slice by slice with the knife.
His saying, the Exalted: "And they said: Exalted be Allah"

11561 - My father narrated to me, Abu Ghassan al-Nahdi narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, Abu Ishaq narrated to us, from Abu al-Ahwas, from 'Abd Allah, he said: Yusuf and his mother were given one-third of the beauty of mankind's creation, in the face, fairness of complexion, and otherwise. He said: Whenever a woman would come to him, he would cover his face for fear that she would be tempted by him.
