The signs were: the tearing of the shirt, the mark of the knife, and the wife of al-'Aziz said: "If you do not imprison him, people will surely believe him."
11583 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Usamah narrated to us, from al-Nadr ibn 'Arabi, from 'Ikrimah, regarding "Then it appeared to them after they had seen the signs," he said: The tearing of the shirt and the scratching of the faces.

He excuses himself to them and informs them that I sought to seduce him, and I cannot bear to use my excuse; so either you give me permission to go out and excuse myself as he excuses himself, or you imprison him as you have imprisoned me." That is His saying: "Then it appeared to them after they had seen the signs," which were the tearing of the shirt and the cutting of the hands.
11585 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd saying regarding the saying of the Exalted: "After they had seen the signs": What the infant spoke in the cradle.
