11597 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "And there entered with him in the prison two young men," the king was angry with his baker; it reached him that he had poisoned him, so he imprisoned him, and he imprisoned the cupbearer, thinking that he had colluded with him on the poison, and that is His saying: "And there entered with him in the prison two young men."

11598 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq: "And there entered with him in the prison two young men": Two servants who belonged to the greater king, al-Rayyan ibn al-Walid. One of them was in charge of his drink, and the other was in charge of some of his affairs, because of an anger he felt towards them. The name of one of them was Mij lath, and the other was Nabu; Nabu was the one who was in charge of the drink. When they saw him, they said: "O young man, by Allah, we have loved you when we saw you."

Ibn Ishaq said: Then 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Najih narrated to me, from Mujahid, that Yusuf said to them when they said that: "I adjure you by Allah not to love me, for by Allah, no one has ever loved me but that a trial came upon me from his love. My paternal aunt loved me, and a trial came upon me from her love. Then my father loved me, and a trial came upon me from his love. Then the wife of my master here loved me, and a trial came upon me from her love for me. So do not love me, may Allah bless you both." But they refused except to love him and be close to him wherever he was, and they were amazed at what they saw of his understanding and intellect.

His saying, the Exalted: "One of them said: 'Indeed, I saw myself pressing wine.'"

11599 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Sharik informed us, from al-A'mash, from Zayd ibn Wahb, he said: 'Abd Allah recited: "Indeed, I saw myself pressing grapes."

11600 - Abu al-Azhar Ahmad ibn al-Azhar informed us in what he wrote to me, Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn al-Hakam, from al-Dahhak, he said regarding one of them: "Indeed, I saw myself pressing wine." Al-khamr (the wine) here is the grapes; the people of 'Uman call grapes: al-khamr.

11601 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: They had seen a vision when they were entered into the prison. Mij lath saw that he was carrying bread above his head, and the birds were eating from it; and Nabu saw that he was pressing wine. So they sought his interpretation of them.
