‘Abbas, that he would consider the grandfather a father and say: "By Allah, whoever wishes, we can help them at the Hijr; Allah did not mention a grandfather or a grandmother." Allah said: "And I have followed the religion of my fathers, Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Ya‘qub."
11613 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, who heard Abu al-Ahwas saying: Asma’ ibn Kharijah al-Fazari boasted against a man and said: "I am the son of the noble elders." ‘Abd Allah ibn Mas‘ud said: "That is Yusuf, son of Ya‘qub, son of Ishaq, the sacrificed one of Allah, son of Ibrahim, the friend (Khalil) of Allah."
His saying, the Exalted: "That is from the bounty of Allah upon us."
11614 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, and the saying of Yusuf: "That is from the bounty of Allah upon us," he says: "That He sent us as prophets."
His saying, the Exalted: "And upon the people."
11615 - And by it, from Ibn ‘Abbas, his saying: "And upon the people,"—that He sent messengers to them.
His saying, the Exalted: "But most of the people are not grateful."
11616 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu‘ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "That is from the bounty of Allah upon us and upon the people, but most of the people are not grateful." Indeed, the believer is grateful for the blessings of Allah upon him and upon His creation.
It was narrated from Qatadah that he said: It was mentioned to us that Abu al-Darda’ used to say: "O how many a person grateful for a blessing is not blessed, and he does not know; and O how many a possessor of jurisprudence (fiqh) is not a jurist (faqih)."
His saying, the Exalted: "O my two companions of the prison."
11617 - My father narrated to us, Abu al-Jumahir Muhammad ibn ‘Uthman al-Dimashqi narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir narrated to us, from Qatadah, from ‘Azrah, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "O my two companions of the prison," he said: "One of them was the king’s cupbearer, and the other was his baker who prepared his food."
His saying, the Exalted: "Are separate lords better, or Allah, the One, the Prevailing?"
عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَجْعَلُ الْجَدَّ أَبًا وَيَقُولُ: وَاللَّهِ لَمَنْ شَاءَ لأَعَنَّاهُ عِنْدَ الْحِجْرِ مَا ذَكَرَ اللَّهُ جَدًّا وَلا جَدَّةً، قَالَ اللَّهُ: وَاتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ آبَائِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ.
١١٦١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ سَمِعَ أَبَا الأَحْوَصِ، يَقُولُ: فَاخَرَ أَسْمَاءُ بْنَ خَارِجَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ رَجُلا فَقَالَ: أَنَا ابْنُ الأَشْيَاخِ الْكِرَامِ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ: ذَاكَ يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ذَبِيحِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ذَلِكَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا
١١٦١٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، وَقَوْلُ يُوسُفُ: ذَلِكَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا يَقُولُ: أَنْ بَعَثَنَا أَنْبِيَاءَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَعَلَى النَّاسِ
١١٦١٥ - وَبِهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَعَلَى النَّاسِ أَنْ بَعَثَنَا إِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لا يَشْكُرُونَ
١١٦١٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلَهُ: ذَلِكَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ وَإِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ لَيَشْكُرُ نِعَمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ، وَعَلَى خَلْقِهِ

وَرُوِيَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ:
ذُكِرَ لَنَا أَن أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ كَانَ يَقُولُ: يَا رُبَّ شَاكِرِ نِعْمَةٍ غَيْرِ مُنْعَمٍ عَلَيْهِ لَا يَدْرِي، وَيَا رُبَّ حَامِلُ فِقْهٍ غَيْرِ فَقِيهٍ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يَا صَاحِبَيِ السِّجْنِ
١١٦١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ عَزْرَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: يَا صَاحِبَيِ السِّجْنِ قَالَ: كَانَ أَحَدُهُمَا سَاقِيَ الْمَلِكِ، وَالآخَرُ خَبَّازَهُ عَلَى طَعَامِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَأَرْبَابٌ مُتَفَرِّقُونَ خَيْرٌ أَمِ اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ
