11724 - Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Wasiti narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Qadim al-Daylami the worshipper narrated to me, he said: I heard al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyad saying: The wife of al-'Aziz stood by the roadside until Joseph passed by, and she said: "Praise be to Allah, who has made slaves kings by their obedience to Him, and has made kings slaves by their disobedience to Him."

His saying: "And the reward of the Hereafter is better for those who believed."

11725 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "And the reward of the Hereafter is better," he says: It is everlasting.

11726 - My father narrated to us, al-Haytham ibn Yaman narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Zakariyya narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn 'Awn al-Khurasani narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah regarding "the home of the Hereafter," he says: Paradise.

His saying, the Exalted: "...who fear (Allah)."

11727 - 'Amr ibn Thawr al-Qaysari reported to us in what he wrote to me, al-Firyabi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "...who fear (Allah)" means: They obey Him.

11728 - My father narrated to us, Abu al-Aswad al-Nadr ibn 'Abd al-Jabbar narrated to us, Nuh ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, from Malik ibn Dinar, he said: I asked al-Hasan, I said: "O Abu Sa'id, 'And the reward of the Hereafter is better for those who believed and used to fear (Allah),' what is it?" He said: "O Malik, they feared the forbidden things; their stomachs became lean, and they abandoned the forbidden things while they desired them."

His saying, the Exalted: "And the brothers of Joseph came and entered upon him."

11729 - Ahmad ibn Mansur narrated to us, Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Sadaqah ibn 'Ubadah narrated to us, my father narrated to me, Ibn 'Abbas said: When the brothers of Joseph entered upon him, he recognized them while they were ignorant of him. He said: He brought the king's drinking cup from which he used to drink, and he placed it on his hand, and began striking it so it rang, striking it and it rang, then he said: "This cup informs me of news about you. Did you have a brother from your father named Joseph? And your father loved him instead of you? And you took him away and threw him into the well, and informed your father that the wolf had eaten him completely, and you brought his shirt with false blood?" He said: They began looking at one another, astonished: "How does this cup inform of our news, and from where does it know this?"
