They said: "To a younger brother of his." He said: "How do you tell me that your father is a truthful man, while he loves the younger one among you more than the elder? Bring me this brother of yours so that I may look at him; and if you do not bring him to me, then there shall be no ration for you with me, and you shall not come near me."
11736 - Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa narrated to us, Salama, from Ibn Ishaq: "Bring me a brother of yours from your father," I shall grant you an extra camel along with him, or as he said.
His saying: "Do you not see that I fill the measure?"
11737 - And by the same chain, from Ibn Ishaq: "Do you not see that I fill the measure?" Meaning: I do not diminish anything from people.
His saying: "And I am the best of hosts."
11738 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah narrated to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And I am the best of hosts," he said: The best of those who provide hospitality in Egypt.
11739 - Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa narrated to us, Salama, from Ibn Ishaq: "And I am the best of hosts," meaning: Better for you than anyone else, for if you bring him, I will honor your station, be kind to you, and you will receive an extra camel in addition to your share, as I do not give every man more than one camel.
His saying: "And if you do not bring him to me, there shall be no ration for you with me, and you shall not come near me."
11740 - And by the same chain, from Ibn Ishaq: "And if you do not bring him to me, there shall be no ration for you with me," meaning if you do not bring him to me, then do not come near my land, for there will be no ration for you with me, and you shall not come near me.
11741 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi: "And if you do not bring him to me, there shall be no ration for you with me, and you shall not come near me," he said: For I fear that you will not bring him to me, so place some of your number as a pledge until you return. So he took Simeon as a pledge with him.
His saying, the Exalted: "They said, 'We will try to persuade his father for him.'"
11742 - Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa narrated to us, Salama, from Ibn Ishaq: "They said, 'We will try to persuade his father for him,'" and we are indeed doers of this, meaning we will surely strive.
قَالُوا: إِلَى أَخٍ أَصْغَرَ مِنْهُ قَالَ: كَيْفَ تُحَدِّثُونِي أَنَّ أَبَاكُمْ صِدِّيقٌ وَهُوَ يُحِبُّ الصَّغِيرَ مِنْكُمْ دُونَ الْكَبِيرِ؟ ائْتُونِي بِأَخِيكُمْ هَذَا حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَلا كَيْلَ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي وَلا تَقْرَبُونِ.
١١٧٣٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ائْتُونِي بِأَخٍ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَبِيكُمْ أَجْعَلُ لَكُمْ مَعَهُ بَعِيرًا آخَرَ، أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ.
قَوْلُهُ: أَلا تَرَوْنَ أَنِّي أُوفِي الْكَيْلَ.
١١٧٣٧ - وَبِهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ: أَلا تَرَوْنَ أَنِّي أُوفِي الْكَيْلَ أَيْ: لَا أَبْخَسُ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا.
قَوْلُهُ: وَأَنَا خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِينَ.
١١٧٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَأَنَا خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِينَ قَالَ: خَيْرُ مَنْ يُضِيفُ بِمِصْرَ.
١١٧٣٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ وَأَنَا خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِينَ أَيْ: خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ غَيْرِي، فَإِنَّكُمْ إِنْ أَتَيْتُمْ بِهِ أَكْرَمْتُ مَنْزِلَتَكُمْ، وَأَحْسَنْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ، وَازْدَدْتُمْ بَعِيرًا مَعَ عِدَّتِكُمْ، فَإِنِّي لَا أُعْطِي كُلَّ رَجُلٍ إِلا بَعِيرًا.
قَوْلُهُ: فَإِنْ لَمْ تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَلا كَيْلَ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي وَلا تَقْرَبُونِ.
١١٧٤٠ - وَبِهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ: فَإِنْ لَمْ تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَلا كَيْلَ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي فَإِنْ أَنْتُمْ لَمْ تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَلا تَقْرَبُوا بَلَدِي، فَإِنَّهُ لَا كَيْلَ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي وَلا تَقْرَبُونِ.
١١٧٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: فَإِنْ لَمْ تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَلا كَيْلَ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي وَلا تَقْرَبُونِ قَالَ:
فَإِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ لَا تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَضَعُوا بَعْضَكُمْ رَهِينَةً حَتَّى تَرْجِعُوا فَارْتَهَنَ شَمْعُونَ عِنْدَهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قَالُوا سَنُرَاوِدُ عَنْهُ أَبَاهُ.
١١٧٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ: قَالُوا سَنُرَاوِدُ عَنْهُ أَبَاهُ وَإِنَّا لَفَاعِلُونَ لَنَجْتَهِدَنَّ.
