held Simeon as a pledge and said: Bring me this brother of yours, upon whom your father has become affectionate after your brother who perished, so that I may see him. If you do not bring him to me, then do not ever come near my lands again.

His saying, the Exalted: "He said, 'Should I trust you with him except as I trusted you with his brother before?'"

11750 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salama narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said: "He said, 'Should I trust you with him except as I trusted you with his brother before?'" They said: O our father, we have come to the best of men. He lodged us and honored our lodging, and he measured for us and gave us full measure, and he did not cheat us. He has commanded us to bring him a brother of ours from our father, and he said: If you do not do so, then do not come near me, and do not enter my country. Ya'qub then said to them: "Should I trust you with him except as I trusted you with his brother before? But Allah is the best protector, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy."

His saying, the Exalted: "And when they opened their baggage, they found their merchandise had been returned to them."

11751 - 'Abd Allah narrated to us, al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Amir narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "And when they opened their baggage," he said: When they returned to their father and opened their packs, they found their merchandise had been returned to them. They came to their father and said: O our father, what more could we desire? This is our merchandise which has been returned to us.

His saying, the Exalted: "They said, 'O our father, what more could we desire? This is our merchandise which has been returned to us; and we will provide for our family and protect our brother.'"

11752 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Jumahir narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Bashir informed us, Qatada narrated to us, regarding His saying: "They said, 'O our father, what more could we desire? This is our merchandise,'" i.e., these are our papers/currency returned to us, "'and we will provide for our family and protect our brother, and we will obtain an extra camel-load; that is an easy load.'"

11753 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "What more could we desire? This is our merchandise which has been returned to us," he says: What more could we desire beyond this? Our merchandise has been returned to us, and the full measure has been given to us.

His saying: "And we will obtain an extra camel-load."

11754 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Aruba narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "And we will obtain an extra camel-load," i.e., a camel's load.
