Translation · EN

11763 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salama narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "So when they had given him their solemn oath," he let him go with them.

His saying, the Exalted: "Allah is the Witness over what we say."

11764 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "Witness [Wakil]" i.e., Protector [Hafiz].

11765 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, who said: So when they had given him their solemn oath, Ya'qub said: "Allah is the Witness over what we say."

11766 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa narrated to us, Abu Salih ibn Shu'ayb ibn 'Abd Allah al-Wasiti narrated to us, from Yazid ibn 'Abd Allah al-Wasiti, from Yazid ibn Harun, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, regarding His saying: "Allah is the Witness over what we say," he said: Witness [Shahid].

His saying, the Exalted: "And he said, 'O my sons, do not enter by one gate.'"

11767 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, Muhammad al-Musaffa narrated to us, Mu'awiya ibn Hafs narrated to us, from Hushaym, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak and Sharik, from Layth, from Mujahid: "Do not enter by one gate." He said: He feared the evil eye for them.

11768 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, who said: He was apprehensive for them that the evil eye might strike them if they entered Egypt, for it would be said, "These are for one man." He said: "O my sons, do not enter by one gate," meaning: from one path.

His saying, the Exalted: "...but enter from different gates."

11769 - My father Yahya ibn 'Abd al-Hamid al-Himmani narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad al-Muharibi narrated to us, from al-Hasan ibn 'Amr, from Fudayl, from Ibrahim: "Do not enter by one gate, but enter from different gates." He said: He knew that he would meet his brothers at some of the gates.

11770 - Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, narrated to us,

١١٧٦٣ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ فَلَمَّا آتَوْهُ مَوْثِقَهُمْ خَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ مَعَهُمْ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قَالَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ.

١١٧٦٤ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: وَكِيلٌ أَيْ: حَفِيظٌ.

١١٧٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَالَ: فَلَمَّا آتَوْهُ مَوْثِقَهُمْ قَالَ يَعْقُوبُ: اللَّهُ عَلَى مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ.

١١٧٦٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحِ بْنُ شُعَيْبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: اللَّهُ عَلَى مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ قَالَ: شَهِيدٌ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَقَالَ يَا بَنِيَّ لا تَدْخُلُوا مِنْ بَابٍ وَاحِدٍ.

١١٧٦٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَوْفِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ الْمُصَفَّى، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ هُشَيْمٍ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ وَشَرِيكٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ: لَا تَدْخُلُوا مِنْ بَابٍ وَاحِدٍ. قَالَ: خَافَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعَيْنَ.

١١٧٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَالَ: ورَهِبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ تُصِيبَهُمُ الْعَيْنُ إِنْ دَخَلُوا مِصْرَ، فَيُقَالُ هَؤُلاءِ لرجل واحد، قال يَا بَنِيَّ لَا تَدْخُلُوا مِنْ بَابٍ وَاحِدٍ يَقُولُ: مِنْ طَرِيقٍ وَاحِدٍ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَادْخُلُوا مِنْ أَبْوَابٍ مُتَفَرِّقَةٍ.

١١٧٦٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ: لَا تَدْخُلُوا مِنْ بَابٍ وَاحِدٍ وَادْخُلُوا مِنْ أَبْوَابٍ مُتَفَرِّقَةٍ قَالَ: عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ سَيَلْقَى إِخْوَتَهُ فِي بَعْضِ الأَبْوَابِ.

١١٧٧٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا
