11763 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salama narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "So when they had given him their solemn oath," he let him go with them.
His saying, the Exalted: "Allah is the Witness over what we say."
11764 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "Witness [Wakil]" i.e., Protector [Hafiz].
11765 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, who said: So when they had given him their solemn oath, Ya'qub said: "Allah is the Witness over what we say."
11766 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa narrated to us, Abu Salih ibn Shu'ayb ibn 'Abd Allah al-Wasiti narrated to us, from Yazid ibn 'Abd Allah al-Wasiti, from Yazid ibn Harun, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, regarding His saying: "Allah is the Witness over what we say," he said: Witness [Shahid].
His saying, the Exalted: "And he said, 'O my sons, do not enter by one gate.'"
11767 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, Muhammad al-Musaffa narrated to us, Mu'awiya ibn Hafs narrated to us, from Hushaym, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak and Sharik, from Layth, from Mujahid: "Do not enter by one gate." He said: He feared the evil eye for them.
11768 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, who said: He was apprehensive for them that the evil eye might strike them if they entered Egypt, for it would be said, "These are for one man." He said: "O my sons, do not enter by one gate," meaning: from one path.
His saying, the Exalted: "...but enter from different gates."
11769 - My father Yahya ibn 'Abd al-Hamid al-Himmani narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad al-Muharibi narrated to us, from al-Hasan ibn 'Amr, from Fudayl, from Ibrahim: "Do not enter by one gate, but enter from different gates." He said: He knew that he would meet his brothers at some of the gates.
