11777 - My father narrated to us, Abu Ma‘mar Isma‘il ibn Ibrahim al-Qati‘i narrated to us, Sufyan ibn ‘Uyayna narrated to us, from Ibn Abi ‘Aruba, from Qatada regarding His saying: "And indeed, he was a possessor of knowledge because of what We had taught him," he said: He was a doer [of what he knew] for what he knew.
His saying, the Exalted: "And when they entered upon Yusuf, he took his brother to himself."
11778 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Jamahir narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir narrated to us, Qatada narrated to us: "And when they entered upon Yusuf, he took his brother to himself," he embraced him and lodged him with himself.
11779 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali narrated to us, ‘Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And when they entered upon Yusuf," he recognized his brother and provided them with a place to stay and allotted them food and drink. When night fell, he brought them in pairs and said: "Let each of you sleep in pairs," until the boy remained alone. Yusuf said: "This one shall sleep with me, on my bed." So he spent the night with Yusuf, and he began to smell his scent and embrace him until morning.
11780 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to me, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: When they entered upon Yusuf, they said: "This is our brother whom you ordered us to bring to you, and we have brought him to you." It was mentioned to me that he said to them: "You have done well and acted correctly; you shall find that for yourselves with me," or as he said: "I see you are men, and I wanted to honor you." He called his host and said: "Lodge every two men separately, then honor them both and provide them with good hospitality." Then he said: "I see this man whom you have brought has no one else with him, so I will take him to myself, and his place shall be with me." So he lodged them two by two in various quarters, and he lodged his brother with himself and took him to himself.
His saying, the Exalted: "He said, 'Indeed, I am your brother.'"
11782 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq who said: When he was alone with him, he said: "Indeed, I am your brother; I am Yusuf."
His saying: "...so do not despair over what they used to do."
11783 - ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Abu al-Jamahir narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir informed us, Qatada narrated to us regarding His saying: "'Indeed, I am your brother; so do not despair over what they used to do,'" meaning: Do not grieve and do not lose hope because of what they used to do.
١١٧٧٧ - حدثنا أبى، ثنا أبو معمرة إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْقَطِيعِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: وَإِنَّهُ لَذُو عَلِمٍ لِمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ قَالَ: عَامِلٌ لِمَا عَلِمَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا عَلَى يُوسُفَ آوَى إِلَيْهِ أَخَاهُ.
١١٧٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، ثنا قَتَادَةُ: وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا عَلَى يُوسُفَ آوَى إِلَيْهِ أَخَاهُ ضَمَّهُ إِلَيْهِ وَأَنْزَلَهُ مَعَهُ.
١١٧٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا عَلَى يُوسُفَ عَرَفَ أَخَاهُ وَأَنْزَلَهُمْ مَنْزِلا وَأَجْرَى عَلَيْهِمُ الطَّعَامَ وَالشَّرَابَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ اللَّيْلُ أَتَاهُمْ بِمِثْلٍ، قَالَ: لِيَنَامَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى مِثَالٍ حَتَّى بَقِيَ الْغُلامُ وَحْدَهُ، فَقَالَ يُوسُفُ: هَذَا يَنَامُ مَعِي، عَلَى فِرَاشِي، فَبَاتَ مَعَ يُوسُفَ فَجَعَلَ يَشْتَمُّ رِيحَهُ وَيَضُمُّهُ إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ.
١١٧٨٠ - حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا سلمة، عن ابن إسحاق: ف لما دَخَلُوا عَلَى يُوسُفَ قَالُوا: هَذَا أَخُونَا الَّذِي أَمَرْتَنَا أَنْ نَأْتِيَكَ بِهِ، وَقَدْ جِئْنَاكَ بِهِ، فَذُكِرَ لِي أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَهُمْ: قَدْ أَحْسَنْتُمْ وَأَصَبْتُمْ سَتَجِدُونَ ذَلِكَ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي، أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ: أَرَاكُمْ رِجَالا وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُكْرِمَكُمْ، وَدَعَا صَاحِبَ ضِيَافَتِهِ فَقَالَ: أَنْزِلْ كُلَّ رَجُلَيْنِ عَلَى حِدَهْ، ثُمَّ أَكْرِمْهُمَا، وَأَحْسَنْ ضِيَافَتَهُمَا ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنِّي أَرَى هَذَا الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي جِئْتُمْ بِهِ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ ثَانِي، فَسَأَضُمُّهُ إِلَيَّ، فَيَكُونُ مَنْزِلُهُ مَعِي فَأَنْزَلَهُمْ رَجُلَيْنِ رَجُلَيْنِ فِي مَنَازِلَ شَتَّى، وَأَنْزَلَ أَخَاهُ مَعَهُ فَآوَاهُ إِلَيْهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قَالَ إِنِّي أَنَا أَخُوكَ.
١١٧٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: فَلَمَّا خَلا بِهِ قَالَ إِنِّي أَنَا أَخُوكَ أَنَا يُوسُفُ.
قَوْلُهُ: فَلا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ.
١١٧٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ، أَنْبَأَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، ثنا قَتَادَةُ قَوْلُهُ: إِنِّي أَنَا أَخُوكَ فَلا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ أَيْ: لَا تَحْزَنْ وَلا تَيْأَسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ.
