11784 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "Do not despair over anything they did to us in the past, for Allah has been good to us, and do not inform them of anything of what I have taught you."

His saying, the Exalted: "So when he had provided them with their provisions."

11785 - ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Abu al-Jamahir narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir informed us, Qatada narrated to us regarding His saying: "So when he had provided them with their provisions," [meaning] when he had fulfilled their need and measured their food for them.

11786 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq who said: Then he provided them with their provisions, honored them, gave them [their due], and paid them in full. He assigned a camel to them, and he assigned a camel to his brother in his name, just as he had assigned for them.

His saying: "He placed the drinking vessel."

11787 - Abu Zur‘a narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr ibn ‘Umara informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "He placed the drinking vessel in the bag of his brother," he said: It is the suwa‘ (drinking vessel), and everything from which one drinks is a suwa‘.

11788 - Hajjaj ibn Hamza narrated to us, Shababa narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: The drinking vessel is the suwa‘ from which Yusuf used to drink.

11789 - ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Abu al-Jamahir informed us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir narrated to us, regarding His saying: "He placed the drinking vessel in the bag of his brother," and it was the King’s vessel from which he used to drink.

11790 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Sa‘d ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, my paternal uncle narrated to us, from Sharik, from Simak, from ‘Ikrimah, regarding the drinking vessel: It was his vessel from which he used to drink, and it was made of silver.

11791 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, he said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying regarding the saying of Allah: "He placed the drinking vessel in the bag of his brother," he said: The drinking vessel is the suwa‘, and it was a goblet of gold, according to what they mention.
