11895 - My father narrated to us, Ibn Nufayl narrated to us, Miskin narrated to us, from Shu‘bah, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "hatta takuna haradan": He said, "Until you are on the verge of death."
11896 - My father narrated to us, Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hudhali narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding "hatta takuna haradan": He said, "Aged."
11897 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Ibn Abi Maryam narrated to us, Mufaddal narrated to us, from Abu Sakhr regarding His saying "haradan": He said, "As for 'haradan', they say it is one who has no intellect and is of no benefit."
11898 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Marwan narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, who said: "Al-harad: is a worn-out thing."
11899 - Muhammad ibn al-‘Abbas narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq regarding "hatta takuna haradan": That is, "corrupted, having no intellect."
His saying, the Almighty: "Or are of the perishing ones."
11900 - Muhammad ibn Isma‘il al-Ahmasi narrated to us, Abu Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us, ‘Uthman ibn Sa‘d narrated to us, from ‘Utbah ibn al-Yaqzan, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding "aw takuna min al-halikin": He said, "From the dead." It was narrated from Mujahid, al-Hasan, al-Dahhak, al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas, Qatadah, and al-Suddi something similar.
His saying, the Almighty: "He said, 'I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah.'"
11901 - al-Hasan ibn ‘Arafah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Ghaniyah narrated to us, from Hafs ibn ‘Umar ibn Abi al-Zubayr, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Prophet Ya‘qub (Jacob) had a brother who was a close companion, and one day he said to him, 'What has taken away your sight and bent your back?' He said, 'As for what took away my sight, it is weeping over Yusuf, and as for what bent my back, it is grief over Binyamin.' Jibril (Gabriel) then came to him and said, 'O Ya‘qub, Allah sends you greetings and says: Are you not ashamed to complain of Me to others?' Ya‘qub said, 'I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah.' Jibril then said, 'Allah knows best what you are complaining of.' [1]"

١١٨٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْهُذَلِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ حَتَّى تَكُونَ حَرَضًا قَالَ: هَرِمًا.
١١٨٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا مُفَضَّلٌ عَنْ أَبِي صَخْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ حَرَضًا قَالَ: أَمَا الْحَرَضُ فَيَقُولُونَ: لَا يَعْقِلُ وَلا يَنْتَفِعُ بِهِ.
١١٨٩٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ قَالَ: الْحَرَضُ: الشَّيْءُ الْبَالِي.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَوْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْهَالِكِينَ.
١١٩٠٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الأَحْمَسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ الْيَقْظَانِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَوْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْهَالِكِينَ قَالَ: مِنَ الْمَيِّتِينَ- وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَالْحَسَنِ وَالضَّحَّاكِ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَقَتَادَةَ وَالسُّدِّيِّ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ال إنما أشكوا بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ.
١١٩٠١ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: كَانَ لِيَعْقُوبَ النَّبِيِّ أَخٌ مُوَاخٍ لَهُ فقال له ذات يوم: مالذي أَذْهَبَ بَصَرَكَ، وَقَوَّسَ ظَهْرَكَ؟
قَالَ: أَمَّا الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ بَصَرِي، فَالْبُكَاءُ عَلَى يُوسُفَ، وَأَمَّا الَّذِي قَوَّسَ ظَهْرِي فَالْحُزْنُ عَلَى بِنْيَامِينَ، فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ، فَقَالَ: يَا يَعْقُوبُ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُقْرِئُكَ السَّلامَ وَيَقُولُ: أَمَا تَسْتَحْي أَنْ تَشْكُوَنِي إِلَى غَيْرِي، فقال يعقوب: نما أشكوا بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ: اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَشْكُو «١» .
