14414 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to me, [who said]: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, [who said]: 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "And not expose their adornment," [he] means: And they should not remove the jilbab, which is the covering (qina') worn over the head covering (khimar). Then He said: "Except to their husbands, or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or the sons of their brothers, or the sons of their sisters," for he is a mahram (unmarriageable relative), and likewise the paternal uncle and the maternal uncle.
His saying: "Or their women."

14415 - Through him, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "Or their women," [he] means: The believing women.
14416 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying]: Hafs ibn 'Umar narrated to us, [who said]: 'Amir ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Ya'qub, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding: "Or their women," [he] said: Their women, the Muslim women, not the polytheist women from among their women; and it is not permitted for a Muslim woman to uncover herself in the presence of polytheists.

14417 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying]: Abu 'Umayr narrated to us, [who said]: Damrah narrated to us, [who said]: Ibn 'Ata' said, from his father: When the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived in Jerusalem, their midwives were Jewish and Christian women (1).
14418 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan al-Hisinjani narrated to us, [saying]: Musaddad narrated to us, [who said]: 'Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, [who said]: My father narrated to me, from Tariq ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, regarding His saying: "Or what their right hands possess," [he] means by that, [only] the female slaves.
14419 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to me, [who said]: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, [who said]: 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "Or what their right hands possess," [he] means the woman's [female] slave; it is not permissible for her to remove her jilbab in the presence of her husband's [male] slave.
14420 - My father narrated to me, [saying]: Hisham ibn 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us, [who said]: Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, [who said]: Ma'mar narrated to me, from Layth, from Mujahid, [who] said: A woman may remove her jilbab in the presence of the possessors [slaves].

١٤٤١٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يحى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَلا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ يَعْنِى وَلا يَضَعْنَ الْجِلْبَابَ وَهُوَ الْقِنَاعُ مِنْ فَوْقِ الْخِمَارِ، فَقَالَ: إِلا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَائِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَائِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي أَخَوَاتِهِنَّ فَهُوَ مَحْرَمٌ وَكَذَلِكَ الْعَمُّ وَالْخَالُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَوْ نسائهن.

١٤٤١٥ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: أَوْ نِسَائِهِنَّ يَعْنِى الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ.
١٤٤١٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ أَوْ نِسَائِهِنَّ قَالَ: نِسَائِهِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَاتِ لَيْسَ الْمُشْرِكَاتُ مِنْ نِسَائِهِنَّ وَلَيْسَ لِلْمَرْأَةِ الْمُسْلِمَةِ أَنْ تَكَشَّفَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ المشركين.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
١٤٤١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَبُو عُمَيْرٍ، ثنا ضَمْرَةُ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ لَمَّا قَدِمَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ كَانَ قَوَابِلُ نِسَائِهِمُ الْيَهُودِيَّاتِ وَالنَّصْرَانِيَّاتِ «١» .
١٤٤١٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْهِسِنْجَانِيُّ، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا أَبِي عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُنَّ إِنَّمَا يَعْنِى بِذَلِكَ الْإِمَاءَ.
١٤٤١٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، حدثني يحي بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُنَّ يَعْنِى عَبْدَ الْمَرْأَةِ لَا يَحِلُّ لَهَا أَنْ تَضَعَ جِلْبَابِهَا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ زَوْجِهَا.
١٤٤٢٠ - حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنِي مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: تَضَعُ الْمَرْأَةُ الجلباب عند الملوك.

١٤٤٢١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، ثنا أَبِي،
