14570 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote, [saying]: My father narrated to me, [saying]: My paternal uncle narrated to me, [saying]: My father narrated to me from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche," and that is because the Jews said to Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: How does the light of Allah pass from below the heaven? So Allah struck an example of that for His light, saying: "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche," and the niche is the alcove of the house.
14571 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, [saying]: Yazid ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Tayalisi reported, [saying]: Ya'qub ibn 'Abd Allah al-Ash'ari reported from Ja'far ibn Abi al-Mughirah, from Shimr ibn 'Atiyyah, who said: Ibn 'Abbas came to Ka'b al-Ahbar and said: Tell me about the saying of Allah: "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light"—the example of the light of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—"is like a niche." He said: The niche is the alcove; He set it as an example.
14572 - Kathir ibn Shihab narrated to us, [saying]: Muhammad ibn Sa'id ibn Sabiq reported, [saying]: Abu Ja'far al-Razi reported from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b regarding His saying: "Like a niche in which is a lamp"—the lamp is the light.
14573 - Muhammad ibn 'Ammar narrated to us, [saying]: 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa reported, [saying]: Abu Ja'far al-Razi reported from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b regarding this verse: "In which is a lamp," he said: The lamp is the Qur'an and the faith which was placed in his chest.
14574 - 'Ali ibn Harb al-Musalli narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn Yaman reported from Abu Ja'far al-Razi, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas regarding His saying: "A lamp," he said: The Qur'an.
14575 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, [saying]: al-Husayn ibn 'Ali reported, [saying]: 'Amir ibn al-Furat reported, [saying]: Asbat reported from al-Suddi regarding "in which is a lamp," he said: The lamp is the light, the faith, and the Qur'an.
14576 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa narrated to us, [saying]: Harun ibn Hatim reported, [saying]: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad reported from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik regarding His saying: "In which is a lamp," he said: Meaning in it is a lantern, and it is a parable that was set forth.
14577 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, [saying]: Yazid ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz reported, [saying]: Ya'qub reported from Ja'far ibn Abi al-Mughirah, from Shimr ibn 'Atiyyah, who said: Ibn 'Abbas came to Ka'b al-Ahbar and said:
١٤٥٧٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَوْفِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: اللَّهُ نور السماوات وَالأَرْضِ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ قَالُوا: لِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ يَخْلُصُ نُورُ اللَّهِ مِنْ دُونِ السَّمَاءِ، فَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلَ ذَلِكَ لِنُورِهِ فَقَالَ: اللَّهُ نُورُ السماوات وَالأَرْضِ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ وَالْمِشْكَاةُ كُوَّةُ الْبَيْتِ.
١٤٥٧١ - حدثنا محمد بن يحي، أنبأ يزيد بن عبد العزيز الطيالسي، ثنا يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَشْعَرِيِّ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ شِمْرِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ: جَاءَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِلَى كَعْبِ الْأَحْبَارِ فَقَالَ حَدِّثْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: اللَّهُ نُورُ السماوات وَالأَرْضِ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ مَثَلُ نُورِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمِشْكَاةٍ قَالَ: الْمِشْكَاةُ الْكُوَّةُ ضَرَبَهَا مَثَلا.
١٤٥٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ شِهَابٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: كَمِشْكَاةٍ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ فَالْمِصْبَاحُ النُّورُ.
١٤٥٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو جعفر، عن الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ: فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ قَالَ الْمِصْبَاحُ الْقُرْآنُ وَالإِيمَانُ الَّذِي جُعِلَ فِي صدره
١٤٥٧٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حرب المصلي، ثنا يحي بْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيِّ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: مِصْبَاحٌ قَالَ الْقُرْآنُ.
١٤٥٧٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ قَالَ: الْمِصْبَاحُ هُوَ النُّورُ وَالإِيمَانُ وَالْقُرْآنُ.
١٤٥٧٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ يَعْنِى فِيهَا سِرَاجٌ وَهُوَ مَثَلٌ ضُرِبَ.
