Translation · EN

His saying: "And Allah strikes parables for the people."

14625 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, [who] informed us: al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, [saying]: Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, [saying]: Sa'id reported to us from Qatadah regarding his saying: "And Allah strikes parables for the people," he said: This is a parable that Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, has struck.

His saying: "And Allah is Knowing of all things."

14626 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr reported to us, [saying]: 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, [saying]: 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me from Sa'id ibn Jubayr: [Meaning] He is knowing of your deeds.

His saying: "In houses [which] Allah has ordered to be raised."

[The First Aspect]

14627 - My father narrated to me, [saying]: Abu Salih reported to us, [saying]: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "In houses [which] Allah has ordered to be raised," [meaning] they are the mosques. They honor them, and He forbade idle talk in them. It has also been narrated from 'Ikrimah, Abu Salih, al-Dahhak, Nafi' ibn Jubayr, Abu Bakr ibn Sulayman ibn Abi Khaythamah, and Sufyan ibn Husayn similarly.

The Second Aspect:

14628 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, [saying]: Abu Usamah reported to us from Salih ibn Hayyan, from Ibn Buraydah regarding his saying: "In houses [which] Allah has ordered to be raised," he said: They are only four mosques which no one built except a Prophet: The Ka'bah, which Abraham and Ishmael built, so it was made a qiblah; the house of Jericho, the Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), which David and Solomon built; and the Mosque of Medina, which the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, built.

The Third Aspect:

14629 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Fudayl reported to us from Layth, from Mujahid regarding "In houses [which] Allah has ordered to be raised and wherein His name is mentioned," he said: They are the houses of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
