Muhammad ibn Suqah, from 'Ikrimah regarding "In houses [which] Allah has ordered to be raised," he said: The houses [refer to] all of them.

A dwelling that they inhabit and in which they mention Allah, and they are not the mosques which Allah has designated by their [specific] names.

The Fifth Aspect:

14632 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying]: Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna reported to us, [saying]: Yazid ibn Harun reported to us from Sufyan ibn al-Husayn: regarding "In houses [which] Allah has ordered to be raised," he said: They are the mosques. He said: And al-Hasan said: It is Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), because ten thousand lamps are lit therein every night.

His saying, the Exalted: "to be raised."

14635 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, [who] informed us: al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi reported to us, [saying]: Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, [saying]: Sa'id reported to us from Qatadah regarding his saying: "In houses [which] Allah has ordered to be raised and wherein His name is mentioned," [meaning] they are these mosques; Allah has permitted their construction and their being raised, and He has commanded their maintenance and their purification.

14636 - It has been mentioned to us that Ka'b used to say: "Indeed, it is written in the Torah: 'Verily, My houses on earth are the mosques, and whoever performs ablution and perfects his ablution, then visits Me in My house, I shall honor him. And it is a duty upon the one visited to honor the visitor.'"
