[His saying, the Exalted: "And wherein His name is mentioned."]

[The First Aspect]

14637 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Abu Salih reported to us, [saying]: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "And wherein His name is mentioned," he says: His Book is recited therein.

The Second Aspect:

14638 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [saying]: Sa'id ibn 'Abd Allah al-Tallas reported to us, [saying]: a shaykh reported to us from Abu Rawq: "And wherein His name is mentioned," he means: the prayer.

His saying: "Glorify."

14639 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Abu Salih reported to us, [saying]: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from Ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "Glorify Him therein in the mornings and the evenings," he says: Prayer is performed for Him therein in the mornings and the evenings.

14640 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, [saying]: Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan reported to us, [saying]: Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, [saying]: Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf reported to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding his saying: "Glorify Him therein in the mornings and the evenings," he says: Prayer is performed for Allah therein in the morning and the evening.

His saying: "In the mornings."

14641 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Abu Salih reported to us, [saying]: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "In the mornings," [meaning] the morning prayer. And similar [interpretation] was narrated from Muqatil.

His saying: "And the evenings."

14642 - And by the same chain from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "And the evenings," he means by the evenings: the 'Asr prayer. They are the first two prayers that Allah ordained, so He loved to mention them both and to remind His servants of them.

14643 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, [saying]: Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan reported to us, [saying]: Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, [saying]: Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf reported to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding his saying: "Glorify Him therein in the mornings and the evenings," he said: The evenings are the end of the day. And similar [interpretation] was narrated from al-Layth ibn Sa'd and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam.

14644 - It was mentioned from Sa'id ibn 'Abd Allah al-Tallas, [saying]: a shaykh reported to us from Abu Rawq: "Glorify Him therein in the mornings and the evenings," he means the morning prayer and the evenings [which is] when the sun inclines towards the Maghrib prayer.
