Translation · EN

13692 - From Ibn Umar that he recited: "And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind," saying: We subjected the wind to him.

The Statement of the Exalted: "And of the devils are those who dive for him."

13693 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And of the devils are those who dive for him," he said: They dive into the water.

The Statement of the Exalted: "And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord."

13694 - He said: And Job (peace be upon him) said: "O Lord, You gave me wealth and children, and no one ever stood at my door complaining of an injustice I had done to him, and You know that. And I used to have bedding laid out for me, but I would abandon it and rebuke my own soul: 'O soul, you were not created for laying on beds.' I did not cease doing that except out of seeking Your countenance."

13695 - My father narrated to us, [who said]: Abu Salamah narrated to us, [who said]: Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Ubayd ibn Umayr, who said: Job (peace be upon him) had two brothers who came one day, but they could not approach him due to his foul odor, so they stood from a distance. One said to the other: "If Allah had known of any good in Job, He would not have afflicted him with this!" Job was distressed by their words in a way he had never been distressed by anything before. He said: "O Allah, if You know that I never spent a night with a full stomach while knowing the location of a hungry person, then verify my truthfulness." So it was verified from the sky while they were listening. Then he said: "O Allah, if You know that I never possessed two shirts while knowing the location of someone naked, then verify my truthfulness." So it was verified from the sky while they were listening. "[I swear] by Your Might!" Then he fell prostrate and said: "O Allah, by Your Might, I shall never raise my head until You remove this from me." So he did not raise his head until it was removed from him.

The Statement of the Exalted: "And We gave him his family and the like thereof with them."

13696 - From Nawf al-Bikali regarding His saying: "And We gave him his family and the like thereof with them," he said: "I stored them for him in the Hereafter and gave him the like of them in the worldly life." Mutarrif was told of this, and he said: "I did not know the interpretation of it before today."

13697 - From Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
