14742 - It was mentioned from Muhammad ibn Abi Hammad, [saying]: Mihran reported to us, from al-Mubarak ibn Fadalah, from al-Hasan, regarding "But if the right is with them, they come to him in submission," he says: Obediently.
His saying: "Is there in their hearts a disease?" up to His saying: "and His Messenger."
14743 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Minjab ibn al-Harith reported to us, [saying]: Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "Is there in their hearts a disease?" He said: The disease is hypocrisy, the interpretation of which has preceded.
His saying: "Nay, it is those who are the wrongdoers." 14744 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Musa ibn Isma'il reported to us, [saying]: Mubarak reported from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "Nay, it is those who are the wrongdoers," he said: A man would, when he wanted to commit an injustice, if he were invited to the Prophet (peace be upon him), turn away and say: Go to so-and-so. Then Allah revealed: "Nay, it is those who are the wrongdoers." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) then said: Whoever has something between him and his brother, and is invited to a judge from the judges of the Muslims but refuses to answer, he is a wrongdoer and has no right.
His saying: "The only statement of the [true] believers, when they are invited to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them."
14745 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, [saying]: al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, [saying]: Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, [saying]: Sa'id reported, from Qatadah: Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: "The only statement of the [true] believers, when they are invited to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them," [is] to say: "We hear and we obey, and those are the successful ones."
It was mentioned to us that 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit was present at Badr and was one of the leaders of the Ansar. It was mentioned to us that he pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) that he would not fear, for the sake of Allah, the blame of any critic. When death approached him, he called his sister's son, Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah, and said: Shall I not inform you of what is upon you and what is for you? He said: Yes. He said: Upon you is to hear and obey in your hardship and your ease, in your eagerness and your aversion, and even when there is preference given over you; and it is upon you to set your tongue in justice, and not to dispute the authority with its people, unless they command you to commit a manifest act of disobedience to Allah. So whatever you are commanded to do that contradicts the Book of Allah, follow the Book of Allah. And it was mentioned to us that Abu al-Darda' said: There is no Islam except with obedience to Allah, and no goodness except in the community.
