Translation · EN

His saying: "If you command them, they will surely go forth."

14751 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan reported to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf reported to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths, 'If you command them, they will surely go forth.'" This is regarding the matter of Jihad; they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if you command them to go forth with you to Jihad, they will surely go forth with you. Regarding His saying: "Say, 'Do not swear,'" he said: He commands them not to swear to anything. Regarding His saying: "Say, 'Do not swear; [there is] known obedience,'" he said: He commanded them to be a group known to the Prophet (peace be upon him) without them having to swear.

His saying (Mighty and Majestic): "Indeed, Allah is acquainted with what you do."

14752 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Acquainted [Khabir]"—he said: Acquainted with His creation.

His saying: "Say, 'Obey Allah and obey the Messenger.'"

14753 - al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan narrated to us, Ya'la ibn 'Ubayd reported to us, 'Abd al-Malik reported to us, from 'Ata' regarding His saying: "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger," he said: Obedience to the Messenger is following the Book and the Sunnah.

His saying: "But if they turn away."

14754 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih reported to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "But if they turn away," meaning the disbelievers turned away from the Prophet (peace be upon him).

His saying: "Then only upon him is that which he is burdened with."

14755 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali reported to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Then only upon him is that which he is burdened with," he said: He is to convey that which he was sent with to you.
