His saying (Most High): "Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds..."
14759 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali reported to us, 'Amir reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding: "Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely make them successors in the earth as He made those before them successors." He said: When the polytheists barred them from the 'Umrah on the day of al-Hudaybiyyah, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) promised them that He would grant them victory.
His saying (Mighty and Majestic): "Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds."
14760 - My father narrated to us, 'Isam ibn Rawwad reported to us, my father reported to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi reported to us, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding: "Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely make them successors in the earth." He said: They are the companions of Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
14761 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan reported to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf reported to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds." Some of the believers said: When will Allah grant His Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) victory over Makkah, so that we may be secure in the land and our toil be gone? Allah heard their words, so Allah revealed at that time: "Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds," meaning the companions of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
His saying (Most High): "that He will surely make them successors in the earth."
14762 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi reported to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Abu al-Sha'tha' who said: I was with Hudhayfah and with 'Abd Allah. Hudhayfah said: "Hypocrisy has departed; hypocrisy only existed during the time of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and it is only disbelief after faith." 'Abd Allah laughed and said: "What are you saying?" And he recited to him: "Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely make them successors in the earth," until he reached the end of it.
14763 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Haytham ibn Yaman reported to us, a man he named reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely make them successors in the earth." He said: They are the companions of Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace); He made them successors in the earth.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ
١٤٧٥٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرٌ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ
قَالَ: لَمَّا صَدَّهُمُ الْمُشْرِكُونَ، عَنِ الْعُمْرَةِ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَعَدَهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ يُظْهِرَهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ
١٤٧٦٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ قَالَ: هُمْ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
١٤٧٦١ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُوسَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَوْلُهُ:
وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ قَالَ بَعْضُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ: مَتَى يَفْتَحُ اللَّهُ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَكَّةَ وَنَأْمَنُ فِي الأَرْضِ. وَيَذْهَبُ عَنَّا الْجَهْدُ، سَمِعَ اللَّهَ قوله فأنزل الله عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ: وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ يَعْنِى: أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ
١٤٧٦٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ حُذَيْفَةَ وَمَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ: ذَهَبَ النِّفَاقُ إِنَّمَا كَانَ النِّفَاقُ، عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ الْكُفْرُ بَعْدَ الإِيمَانِ فَضَحِكَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَ: مما تَقُولُ ذَلِكَ. فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ- حَتَّى بَلَغَ آخِرَهَا.
١٤٧٦٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ يَمَانٍ، ثنا رَجُلٌ سَمَّاهُ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ قَالَ: هُمْ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَخْلَفَهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ.
