the Ummah, and He established them in the land, replaced their fear with security, expanded their provision, and granted them victory over their enemies. Allah has indeed fulfilled His promise, and the debt of Allah remains upon their necks.

His saying (Most High): "They worship Me"

14774 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ reported to us, Sa‘id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "They worship Me, not associating anything with Me." It was mentioned that the Prophet of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was on one of his journeys, and riding behind him was Mu‘adh ibn Jabal, with nothing between them but the back of the saddle. Then the Prophet of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "O Mu‘adh ibn Jabal!" He said: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah, and may I be ready to assist you." He said: "Do you know what the right of Allah over the servants is?" He said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "The right of Allah over the people is that they should worship Him and not associate anything with Him." He said: "Do you know what the right of the people over Allah is if they do that?" He said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "The right of the people or the servants over Allah if they do that is that He will not punish them."

His saying (Most High): "Not associating anything with Me"

14775 - Abu Sa‘id ibn Yahya ibn Sa‘id al-Qattan narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Musa reported to us, Abu Ja‘far reported to us, from Layth, from Mujahid, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "They worship Me, not associating anything with Me," he said: "They worship Me."

14776 - Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Harawi reported to us, al-Hajjaj informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujahid regarding "They worship Me, not associating anything with Me," that it is the Ummah of Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).

His saying (Most High): "And whoever disbelieves after that"

14777 - Kathir ibn Shihab narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Sa‘id ibn Sabiq reported to us, Abu Ja‘far al-Razi reported to us, from al-Rabi‘, from Abu al-‘Aliyah regarding His saying: "And whoever disbelieves after that," he says: "Whoever disbelieves in this blessing, then those are the defiantly disobedient." He means: The disbelief here is disbelief in the blessing, not disbelief in Allah (Mighty and Majestic).

14778 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali reported to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, Bukayr ibn Ma‘ruf reported to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "And whoever disbelieves after that, then those..."
