Translation · EN

14803 - My father narrated to us, ‘Abdah ibn Sulayman reported to us, Ibn al-Mubarak informed us, Yunus informed us, from al-Zuhri, he said: I do not consider it mandatory for servants to seek permission except during the three private times. And those women who have not yet reached the age of menstruation are not required to cover with headscarves (khumur) or outer garments (jalabib).

His saying (the Exalted): "Three times."

14804 - My father narrated to us, ‘Abdah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak informed us, Sufyan informed us, from Jabir, from Mujahid and ‘Ata’ regarding this verse: "Let them ask your permission, those whom your right hands possess and those who have not [yet] reached puberty among you, three times." Mujahid said: It suffices them to ask permission once during these hours. ‘Ata’ said: They must ask permission during these hours even if they are not in need of anything.

His saying (the Exalted): "Before the dawn prayer."

14805 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih reported to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "Before the dawn prayer," he says: When a man is alone with his wife after the ‘Isha’ prayer, no servant or child should enter upon him except with his permission, until he performs the morning prayer.

14806 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr reported to us, Ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding Allah's saying: "Three times, before the dawn prayer," he means before the morning prayer.

His saying (the Exalted): "And when you put aside your garments from the heat of the noon."

14807 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih reported to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "And when you put aside your garments from the heat of the noon," he said: When he is alone with his wife at noon.

14808 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr: "And when you put aside your garments from the heat of the noon," [meaning] at midday.

His saying (the Exalted): "And after the night prayer."

14809 - Through the same chain, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr: "And after the night prayer," he means after the late night prayer. It is not appropriate for Muslims that anyone enters upon them during these three hours, neither any of their young children and relatives, nor their adult slaves, except with permission.
