14828 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad reported to us, Muhammad reported to us, Bukayr reported to us, from Muqatil regarding His saying: "Thus Allah makes clear to you His verses," meaning what He has enjoined upon them in this Surah.

His saying (the Exalted): "And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise."

14829 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya reported to us, Ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ narrated to me, from Sa‘id: "And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise" regarding the ruling of seeking permission.

His saying (the Exalted): "And the women of post-menopause."

14830 - Abu Sa‘id ibn Yahya ibn Sa‘id al-Qattan narrated to us, ‘Amr ibn Muhammad al-‘Anqazi reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi who said: I had a servant who was called Muslim, and he was a freed slave of the wife of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman. He came one day to the market with traces of henna on his hand. I asked him about that, and he informed me that he had dyed the hair of his mistress, who was the wife of Hudhayfah. I disapproved of that, and he said: "If you wish, shall I take you to her?" I said: "Yes." So he took me to her, and there was an elderly lady. I said: "Indeed, Muslim told me that he dyed your hair." She said: "Yes, my son, I am of the women of post-menopause who do not hope for marriage, and Allah has said regarding that what you have heard."

14831 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya reported to us, Ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ narrated to me, from Sa‘id: "And the women of post-menopause," meaning the elderly woman who does not menstruate due to old age. It was narrated from Muqatil ibn Hayyan and Qatadah the same as the statement of Sa‘id ibn Jubayr.

14832 - Abu ‘Abd Allah al-Tehrani informed me in what he wrote to me, ‘Abd al-Razzaq reported, Ma‘mar reported, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And the women of post-menopause," he says: The woman when she has ceased from marriage.

14833 - My father narrated to us, ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Munib reported to us, Abu Mu‘adh reported to us, from ‘Ubayd, from al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "And the women of post-menopause," this is for the elderly woman who has ceased from childbearing, so it does not harm her if she does not wear a wrap over the head covering (khimar).

His saying (the Exalted): "Those who do not hope for marriage."

14833 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya reported to us, Ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding Allah’s saying: "Those who do not hope for marriage," meaning they do not hope for remarriage.
