Mujahid regarding His saying: "And when they are with him upon a matter of common interest, they do not go away until they ask his permission," he said: This refers to military expeditions and Friday prayer. The permission of the Imam on Friday is for him to signal with his hand.
14914 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid al-Bayruti informed us by way of reading, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Shapur informed me, 'Uthman ibn 'Ata' narrated to me from his father: As for "a matter of common interest," it is a general matter.
14915 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "The believers are only those who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and when they are with him upon a matter of common interest, they do not go away until they ask his permission," he says: When it is a matter of obedience to Allah. It has been narrated from Qatadah and al-Dahhak similarly.
14916 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali reported to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf reported to us from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "And when they are with him upon a matter of common interest," he says: upon a matter of obedience upon which they gather, such as Friday [prayer], the [day of] sacrifice, the [day of] breaking the fast, Jihad, and the likes thereof of what Allah benefits them with.
His saying, the Almighty: "they do not go away until they ask his permission"
14917 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Hajjaj ibn Muhammad reported to us, Ibn Jurayj and 'Uthman ibn 'Ata' reported to us, from 'Ata', from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abbas, he said: "Do not ask permission of the ones who believe in Allah and the Last Day..." up to his saying "they turn back." Then the verse in Surat al-Nur abrogated it: "The believers are only those who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and when they are with him upon a matter of common interest, they do not go away until they ask his permission."
14918 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb reported to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj narrated to me from Makhul that he said regarding the saying of Allah: "And when they are with him upon a matter of common interest, they do not go away until they ask his permission," he said: Friday [prayer] was among those matters of common interest for which a man would ask permission. He said: When that happened, the man would place his left hand upon his nose, then he would come and signal with his right hand to the Imam, and the Imam would signal to him, and he would depart.
14919 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb reported to us, 'Abd al-Majid ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Abi Rawwad narrated to me from his father, from Yazid ibn Jabir, [reporting] the same.
مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ وَإِذَا كَانُوا مَعَهُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ جَامِعٍ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنُوهُ قَالَ: ذَلِكَ فِي الْغَزْوِ وَالْجُمُعَةِ. وَإِذْنُ الإِمَامِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَنْ يُشِيرَ بِيَدِهِ.
١٤٩١٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مَزْيَدٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ قِرَاءَةً، أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ شَابُورَ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، وَأَمَّا أَمْرٍ جَامِعٍ فَأَمَرٌ عَامٌّ.
١٤٩١٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَوْفِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ، إِلَيَّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَإِذَا كَانُوا مَعَهُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ جَامِعٍ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا حتى يستأذنوه يقول: إذا أَمْرُ طَاعَةٍ لِلَّهِ- وَرُوِِىِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَالضَّحَّاكِ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
١٤٩١٦ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بن علي، ثنا محمد ابن مُزَاحِمٍ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَوْلُهُ: وَإِذَا كَانُوا مَعَهُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ جَامِعٍ يَقُولُ عَلَى أَمْرِ طَاعَةٍ يَجْتَمِعُونَ عَلَيْهَا، نَحْوِ الْجُمُعَةِ، وَالنَّحْرِ وَالْفِطْرِ، وَالْجِهَادِ، وَأَشْبَاهِ ذَلِكَ مِمَّا يَنْفَعُهُمُ اللَّهُ بِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنُوهُ
١٤٩١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَا يَسْتَأْذِنُكَ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ.. إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: يَتَرَدَّدُونَ فَنَسَخَتْهَا الآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي سُورَةِ النُّورِ إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَإِذَا كَانُوا مَعَهُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ جَامِعٍ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنُوهُ.
١٤٩١٨ - قُرِئَ عَلَى يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَإِذَا كَانُوا مَعَهُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ جَامِعٍ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنُوهُ قَالَ: كَانَتِ الْجُمُعَةُ مِنْ تِلْكَ الأُمُورِ الْجَامِعَةِ الَّتِي يَسْتَأْذِنُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا قَالَ: إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ وَضَعَ الرَّجُلُ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى أَنْفِهِ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي فَيُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الإِمَامِ، فَيُشِيرُ إِلَيْهِ الإِمَامُ، فَيَذْهَبُ.
١٤٩١٩ - قُرِئَ عَلَى يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ بِذَلِكَ.
