14926 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid (1) regarding His saying: "like the calling of one of you to another," He commanded them to call out, "O Messenger of Allah," with gentleness and humility, and not to say, "O Muhammad," with harshness.

14927 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Do not make your calling of the Messenger among yourselves like the calling of one of you to another," Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, commanded that His Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) be feared, revered, honored, and addressed as a leader.

14928 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali reported to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf reported to us from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "Do not make your calling of the Messenger among yourselves like the calling of one of you to another," He says: Do not name him when you call him "O Muhammad," and do not say, "O son of 'Abd Allah," but rather honor him and say, "O Messenger of Allah, O Prophet of Allah."

14929 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Do not make your calling of the Messenger among yourselves like the calling of one of you to another," he says: The Messenger's invocation against you is binding, so beware of it. It has also been narrated from 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi similarly.

14930 - Al-Husayn ibn al-Sakan al-Basri narrated to us in Baghdad, Abu Zayd al-Nahwi reported to us, Qays reported to us from 'Asim, from al-Hasan, he said: Do not treat the calling of the Messenger when he is called like the calling of one of you to another.
