His saying, the Almighty: "To Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth."

14959 - Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' Abu Kurayb reported to us, 'Uthman ibn Sa'id reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah reported to us, Abu Rawq reported to us, from al-Dahhak, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abbas, he said: Gabriel said: "O Muhammad, to Allah belongs the entire creation: all the heavens and those within them, and all the earths and those within them, and what is between them of that which is known and that which is not known." He says: "Know, O Muhammad, that this Lord of yours—nothing resembles Him in the description He has inspired to you."

His saying, the Almighty: "And He has not taken a son."

14960 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani narrated to us, Hafs ibn 'Umar al-'Adani informed us, al-Hakam ibn Aban reported to us, from 'Ikrimah, he said: The Jews said, "Uzayr is the son of Allah"; the Christians said, "The Messiah is the son of Allah"; the Sabaeans said, "We worship the angels instead of Allah"; the Magians said, "We worship the sun and the moon instead of Allah"; and the idolaters said, "We worship idols instead of Allah." So Allah revealed to His Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to belie their statement: "And He has not taken a son."

His saying, the Almighty: "And He has no partner in dominion."

14961 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by way of recitation, Ibn Wahb informed us, Abu Sakhr informed us, from al-Qurazi, Muhammad ibn Ka'b, regarding this verse: "And He has no partner in dominion," he said: The Jews and Christians said, "Allah has taken a son," the Arabs said, "Here I am, O Allah, here I am; You have no partner, except a partner who belongs to You," and the Sabaeans and Magians said, "Were it not for the allies (awliya') of Allah, Allah would have been humiliated." So Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, revealed: "He has not taken a son, and He has no partner in dominion."

His saying, the Almighty: "And He created everything."

14962 - Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim informed us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil narrated to me that he heard his uncle, Wahb ibn Munabbih, saying: 'Uzayr said: "O Allah, my Lord, You have named Yourself the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful, the Most Merciful of the merciful, because You have mercy upon the sinful and overlook the transgressors. And You have named Yourself the Generous, because You give more than what is asked. We are only Your creation and the work of Your hands; You created our bodies in the wombs of our mothers and shaped us as You willed by Your power. You gave us limbs and placed bones within them, and You opened for us hearing and sight. Then You placed light for them in that darkness, spaciousness in that constriction, and a spirit in that mouth. Then, by Your wisdom, You prepared for them..."
