His saying, the Almighty: "And walks in the marketplaces."
14985 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali reported to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "Eats food and walks in the marketplaces," he said: It is the path.
His saying, the Almighty: "Why has a messenger not been sent down to him so it becomes a warner with him?"
14986 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said: Allah, Majestic and Exalted is He, revealed to him regarding their statement—that you should take for yourself what they claimed you should take for yourself, namely that you should make for them gardens, palaces, and treasures, and that you should send with him an angel who confirms what he says and repels from you those who dispute with you: "And they said, 'What is this messenger that he eats food and walks in the marketplaces? Why has a messenger not been sent down to him so it becomes a warner with him? Or why is a treasure not presented to him, or why does he not have a garden from which he eats?'"
His saying, the Almighty: "And the wrongdoers said, 'You follow none but a man bewitched.'"
14987 - Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah reported to us, from al-A'mash, from 'Abd Allah ibn Murrah, from al-Bara', regarding His saying: "The wrongdoers," he said: The Jews.
His saying, the Almighty: "Look at how they strike comparisons for you, so they have gone astray."
14988 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq: Allah, Glorified be He and with His praise, says: "Look at how they strike comparisons for you, so they have gone astray," meaning: They sought guidance in other than what He sent you with to them, so they went astray.
His saying, the Almighty: "So they are not able to find a way."
14989 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "So they are not able to find a way," [a way] out that would lead them away from the comparisons they struck for you.
14990 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, regarding His saying: "So they are not able to find a way," meaning: They sought guidance in other than what I sent you with, so they will never be able to attain guidance in other than it.

قوله تعالى: وَيَمْشِي فِي الأَسْوَاقِ
١٤٩٨٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الأَشْعَثَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرُ ابْنُ الْفُرَاتِ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: يَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِي فِي الأَسْوَاقِ قَالَ:
هِيَ الطَّرِيقُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَوْلا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُ نَذِيرًا
١٤٩٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: وَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَزَّ عَلَيْهِ فِي قَوْلِهِمْ أَنْ خُذْ لِنَفْسِكَ مَا قَالُوا أَنْ تَأْخُذَ لَهَا أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَقُصُورًا وَكُنُوزًا، وَأَنْ تَبْعَثَ مَعَهُ مَلَكًا يُصَدِّقُ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَرُدُّ عَنْكَ مَنْ خَاصَمَكَ: وَقَالُوا مَالِ هَذَا الرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِي فِي الأَسْوَاقِ لَوْلا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُ نَذِيرًا أَوْ يُلْقَى إِلَيْهِ كَنْزٌ أَوْ تَكُونَ لَهُ جُنَّةٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَقَالَ الظَّالِمُونَ إِنْ تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلا رَجُلا مَسْحُورًا
١٤٩٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قوله: الظَّالِمُونَ قَالَ: الْيَهُودُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: انْظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا لَكَ الأَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوا
١٤٩٨٨ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ محمد ابن إِسْحَاقَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَبِحَمْدِهِ: انْظُرْ كَيْفَ ضربوا لك الأمثال فضلوا أَيِ الْتَمَسُوا الْهُدَى فِي غَيْرِ مَا بَعَثَك َبِهِ إِلَيْهِمْ فَضَلُّوا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَلا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلا
١٤٩٨٩ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١» قوله: فَلا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلا مَخْرَجًا يُخْرِجُهُمْ مِنَ الأَمْثَالِ الَّتِي ضَرَبُوا لَكَ.
١٤٩٩٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَوْلُهُ: فَلا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلا أَيِ الْتَمَسُوا الْهُدَى فِي غَيْرِ مَا بَعَثْتُكَ فَلَنْ يَسْتَطِيعُوا أَنْ يُصِيبُوا الْهُدَى فِي غَيْرِهِ.
