[His saying, the Almighty: "Roaring."]
15002 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Raja' reported to us, Isra'il reported to us, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid, from Ibn 'Abbas who said: The servant is indeed dragged toward the Fire, and it gasps toward him like the gasping of a mule toward barley, then it lets out a roar such that there remains no one but that he fears.
15003 - Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, 'Abd al-Razzaq reported to us, Ma'mar reported to us, from Mansur, from Mujahid, from 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr al-Laythi regarding His saying: "They hear its fury and roaring," he said: Hell will let out a roar such that there remains neither an angel nor a prophet but that he falls down, his joints trembling, until Ibrahim would kneel on his knees and say: "O Lord, I do not ask of You today except for my own soul."
15004 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali reported to us, 'Amir reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "They hear its fury and roaring," he said: The "roaring" is the sound [it makes] with fury against them.
His saying, the Almighty: "And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein."
15005 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb informed us, Nafi' ibn Yazid informed me, from Yahya ibn Abi Usayd, who raises the hadith to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he was asked about the saying of Allah the Almighty: "And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein, bound together," he said: "By Him in whose hand is my soul, they are indeed forced into the Fire just as a peg is forced into a wall."
15006 - My father narrated to us, 'Abdah ibn Sulayman reported to us, Ibn al-Mubarak informed us, Muhammad ibn Yasar informed us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein, bound together," he said: It was mentioned to us that 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr used to say: "Hell indeed constricts for the disbelievers just as the iron head (zujj) constricts on the spear." Abu Muhammad said: No one narrated it from him except Ibn al-Mubarak.
15007 - My father narrated to us, Mahmud ibn Ghaylan reported to us, Mu'ammal reported to us, from Yazid ibn Zuray', from Sa'id, from Qatadah, from Abu Ayyub, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr: "When they are thrown into a narrow place therein," he said: Like the iron head on a spear. And it was narrated from Yahya ibn al-Jazzar, from Mujahid, something similar.
