His saying, the Almighty: "Will you have patience?"

15050 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Junayj reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq regarding: "And We have made some of you for others [a] trial, will you have patience? And your Lord is ever, Seeing," meaning: I have made some of you a trial for others so that you may have patience in what you hear from them and see of their opposition, and so that you follow guidance without My granting them the world for it. Had I willed to place the world with My messengers so they would not be opposed, I would have done so, but I have willed to test the servants through you and to test you through them.

15051 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Muqaddami reported to us, 'Awn ibn Ma'mar reported to us, from Ibrahim al-Sa'igh, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr regarding His saying: "And We have made some of you for others [a] trial, will you have patience? And your Lord is ever, Seeing," he said: It refers to people in general.

And Jarir ibn Hazim recited to me the saying of Khubayb: By your life, I do not hope for it when I am a Muslim, on any condition, my place of death is for the sake of Allah.

15053 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed me, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Why have the angels not been sent down to us?" meaning: that we might see them openly, or [why do we not] see our Lord?

His saying, the Almighty: "They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and have become insolent with great insolence."

15054 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, 'Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq reported to us, al-Husayn ibn Waqid informed me, Yazid al-Nahwi reported to us, from 'Ikrimah, he said: Al-'atu (insolence) in the Book of Allah is tyranny (tajabbur).

His saying, the Almighty: "The day they see the angels..."

15055 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "The day they see the angels," he said: The Day of Resurrection.
