His saying, the Almighty: "No glad tidings will there be that day for the criminals."
15056 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Idris reported to us, from his father, from 'Atiyyah, regarding His saying: "No glad tidings will there be that day for the criminals," he said: When the Day of Resurrection arrives, you will meet the believer with glad tidings. When the disbelievers see that, they will say to the angels, "Give us glad tidings." They will reply, "A forbidden ban," [meaning] a prohibition and a restriction that we should meet you with glad tidings.
15057 - My father narrated to us, Ibn Abi 'Umar al-'Adani reported to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Fitr, from Mujahid, regarding: "No glad tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and they will say, 'A forbidden ban'," he said: The angels say, "A prohibition and a restriction; there are no glad tidings today except for the believers."
His saying, the Almighty: "And they will say, 'A forbidden ban.'"
15058 - My father narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym reported to us, Musa ibn Qays reported to us, from 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, regarding: "And they will say, 'A forbidden ban'," he said: A prohibition and a restriction that we should give you glad tidings of that which we give the righteous.
15059 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Idris reported to us, from his father, from 'Atiyyah, regarding: "And they will say, 'A forbidden ban'," he said: A prohibition and a restriction.
15060 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd reported to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, regarding: "And they will say, 'A forbidden ban'," he said: The angels will say to them, "It is prohibited that there should be any glad tidings for you."
15061 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Munib reported to us, Abu Mu'adh reported to us, from 'Ubayd, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "No glad tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and they will say, 'A forbidden ban'"—when the tremors of the Hour came, and among its tremors was that the heaven split asunder; it is on that day weak, and the angel is on its sides, at the edges of everything that splits from the heaven. That is His saying: "The day they see the angels, no glad tidings will there be that day for the criminals," a prohibition and a restriction, "O you criminals, that there should be any glad tidings for you today, now that you have seen us." It has been narrated from Mujahid, al-Hasan, 'Ata' al-Khurasani, and Khusayf that it means a prohibition and a restriction.
