The distance between the lobe of one of their ears to their heel is a journey of five hundred years, and the distance between their heel and their knees is a journey of five hundred years, and the distance between their knees and their ankles is a journey of five hundred years, and the distance between their ankles and their collarbones is a journey of five hundred years, and the distance between their collarbones and the place of the earring is a journey of five hundred years, and what is beyond that is a journey of five hundred years, and Hell is alongside them.
The saying of the Exalted: "The true sovereignty on that day will be for the Most Merciful."
15090 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shaybah reported to us, Abu Usamah reported to us, from ‘Umar ibn Hamzah, from Salim ibn ‘Abd Allah, ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Umar informed me, saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah will fold the heavens on the Day of Resurrection, then He will fold the earths, then He will say: I am the King! Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?"
The saying of the Exalted: "For the Most Merciful"
15091 - ‘Ali ibn Tahir narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-‘Ala’ Abu Kurayb reported to us, ‘Uthman ibn Sa‘id al-Zayyat reported to us, Bishr ibn ‘Umarah reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "The Most Merciful" (al-Rahman) is the active participle (fa‘lan) derived from mercy (al-rahmah), and it is from the speech of the Arabs: al-Rahman.
15092 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-‘Arzami reported to us, my father reported to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "The Most Merciful," he said: The Most Merciful to all of His creation.
The saying of the Exalted: "And it will be a difficult day for the disbelievers"
15093 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid reported to us, Sa‘id ibn Ishaq reported to us, Sa‘id reported to us, from Qatadah, who said regarding the statement of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "A difficult day..." Allah explained upon whom it will fall, so He said: "For the disbelievers."
The saying of the Exalted: "And the day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands"
15094 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa’ reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And the day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands," [referring to] ‘Uqbah ibn Abi Mu‘ayt, who hosted a gathering in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was present, for food. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) refused to eat and said:
