15150 - My father narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah reported to us, Jarir reported to us, from al-A'mash, from Muslim, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was given the seven long al-Mathani (seven long chapters of the Quran), and Moses was given six of the al-Mathani.

15151 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, Yazid ibn Zuray', reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "The Book," he said: The Torah. And regarding His saying: "And We appointed with him his brother Aaron, a helper," [it means] a supporter and a strength.

His saying (Mighty and Majestic is He): "Then We said: 'Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs'"

15152 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi, he said: Moses set out towards his family and traveled with them toward Egypt until he arrived there at night. He sought hospitality from his mother while he did not know them, on a night when they were eating Tafshil (a type of stew). He descended at the side of the house, and Aaron came. When he saw his guest, he asked his mother about him, and she informed him that he was a guest. So he invited him, and he ate with him. When they sat down, they conversed, and Aaron asked him, "Who are you?" He said, "I am Moses." Then both of them stood up to one another. He mentioned the Hadith, and it has been written more than once, and the Hadith of Wahb ibn Munabbih regarding it has also been mentioned.

15153 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Rabi' ibn Tha'lab reported to us, Abu Isma'il al-Mu'addib reported to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Muslim, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr, he said: Eighty doors used to be locked against Pharaoh, and Moses would not approach any one of them but it would open, and he would not speak to anyone until he stood before him.

15154 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Babah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Our signs," [it means] with the clear proofs.

His saying (Mighty and Majestic is He): "And We destroyed them with complete destruction"

15155 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih reported to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And We destroyed them with complete destruction," he says: We annihilated them with punishment. And it was narrated from al-Suddi similar to that.

15156 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far reported to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' regarding His saying: "And We destroyed them with complete destruction," he says: We utterly destroyed them, [meaning]: Allah cut off the various forms of punishment.
