His saying, the Almighty: "And ever is your Lord competent [to do what He wills]."
15278 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Yahya al-Razi reported to us, from 'Amr ibn Abi Qays, from Mutarrif, from al-Minhal, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: A man came to him and said: O Ibn 'Abbas, I heard Allah saying: "And Allah is..." as if it is something that "was" (kana). He replied: As for His saying "And Allah was" (wa kana Allah), it means He has never ceased to be, and He will never cease to be; He is the First, the Last, the Manifest, and the Hidden.
His saying, the Almighty: "And they worship other than Allah that which does not benefit them or harm them"
15279 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid reported to us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And they worship other than Allah" - this refers to this idol and this stone.
His saying, the Almighty: "And the disbeliever has ever been, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan]"
15280 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl reported to us, from Mutarrif, from 'Amir regarding: "And the disbeliever has ever been, against his Lord, an assistant," he said: This refers to Abu Jahl. It was also narrated from Mujahid, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, and 'Atiyyah similar to that.

15281 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah reported to us, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "And the disbeliever has ever been, against his Lord, an assistant," he says: An aid to Satan against his Lord through enmity and polytheism.
15282 - My father narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Zunayj reported to us, Hakkam reported to us, 'Anbasah reported to us, from Layth, from Mujahid: "And the disbeliever has ever been, against his Lord, an assistant," he said: He aids Satan against the disobedience of Allah; he helps him.
15283 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Junayd narrated to us, Ibn Abi Hammad reported to us, al-Sabah ibn Muharib reported to us, Muhammad ibn Aban reported to us, from Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "And the disbeliever has ever been, against his Lord, an assistant," he said: Taking as an ally (muwaliyan).

قوله تعالى: وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيرًا
١٥٢٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى الرَّازِيُّ، عَنْ عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ الْمِنْهَالِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ سَمِعْتُ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ: وَكَانَ اللَّهُ كَأَنَّهُ شَيْءٌ كَانَ قَالَ: أَمَّا قَوْلُهُ: وَكَانَ اللَّهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَزَلْ وَلا يَزَالُ وَهُوَ الأَوَّلُ وَالآخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُهُمْ وَلا يَضُرُّهُمْ
١٥٢٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قوله: وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ هَذَا الْوَثَنَ وَهَذَا الْحَجَرَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَكَانَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَى رَبِّهِ ظَهِيرًا
١٥٢٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ: وَكَانَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَى رَبِّهِ ظَهِيرًا قَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ وَرُوِِىِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَعَطِيَّةَ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: على ربه ظهيرا
١٥٢٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَكَانَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَى رَبِّهِ ظَهِيرًا يَقُولُ: عَوْنًا لِلشَّيْطَانِ عَلَى رَبِّهِ بِالْعَدَاوَةِ وَالشِّرْكِ.
١٥٢٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا حَكَّامٌ، ثنا عَنْبَسَةُ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١» : وَكَانَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَى رَبِّهِ ظَهِيرًا قَالَ: يُظَاهِرُ الشَّيْطَانَ عَلَى مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ يُعِينُهُ «٢» .
١٥٢٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ، ثنا الصَّبَّاحُ بْنُ مُحَارِبٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبَانَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ قَوْلُهُ: وَكَانَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَى رَبِّهِ ظَهِيرًا قَالَ مواليا.
