His saying, the Almighty: "Except for whoever desires to take a path to his Lord"
15289 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported, from Qatadah regarding his saying: "I do not ask you for any payment for it, except for whoever desires to take a path to his Lord," meaning: by obeying Allah.
His saying, the Almighty: "And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die"
15290 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj reported to us, Salamah reported, Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: His saying: "And rely upon the Ever-Living" means: Be satisfied with Him instead of [reliance upon] created beings.
His saying, the Almighty: "Upon the Ever-Living who does not die"
15291 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn Nufayl reported to us, he said: I read to Ma'qil—meaning ibn 'Ubayd Allah—from 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Husayn, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, who said: Salman met the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in some of the mountain passes of Medina and prostrated to him, so he said: "Do not prostrate to me, O Salman, but prostrate to the Ever-Living who does not die."
15292 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa al-Damghani reported to us, 'Amr ibn Humran reported to us, from Sa'id, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "The Ever-Living," he said: The Ever-Living who does not die.
His saying, the Almighty: "And exalt [Allah] with His praise"
15293 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id, from Qatadah, meaning His saying: "And exalt [Allah] with His praise," meaning: by acknowledging Him and obeying Him.
His saying, the Almighty: "And sufficient is He, concerning the sins of His servants, as Acquainted"
15294 - Through the same chain from Qatadah: "Acquainted," he said: Acquainted with His creation.
His saying, the Almighty: "Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them"
15295 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa reported to us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl al-Razi reported to us, Ibn Ishaq reported regarding His saying: "Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days," he said: He originated the heavens and the earth and they were not [existent] except by His power, He did not seek the help of anyone from His creation in that."
