15342 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Bukayr al-Nakha‘i reported to us, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding: "...walk upon the earth easily," he said: "With tranquility and dignity."

15343 - My father narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Samad ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Muqri’ reported to us, Jasr reported to us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "Easily," he said: "'Al-hawn' in the Arabic language is tranquility, forbearance, and dignity." He said: "The believer is forbearing; if ignorance is displayed towards him, he is forbearing. He does not commit injustice, and if he is treated unjustly, he forgives. He is not stingy, and if he is treated with stinginess, he is patient."

15344 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Musa reported to us, Ibn Abi Za’idah reported to us, Mubarak reported to us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "...walk upon the earth easily," he said: "'Al-hawn' in the speech of the Arabs is gentleness, tranquility, and dignity."

15345 - Al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan narrated to us, Zakariyya ibn ‘Adi reported to us, Ibn al-Mubarak reported to us, from Ma‘mar, from Yahya ibn al-Mukhtar, from al-Hasan, concerning: "And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily," he said: "The believers are a humble people. By Allah, their hearing, their sight, and their limbs have been humbled until you would think them ill, yet there is no illness in them; they are indeed healthy. But such fear has entered them that which has not entered others, and their knowledge of the Hereafter has restrained them from the world, so they said: 'Praise be to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow.' By Allah, they were not saddened by the sorrow of the people, and nothing for which they sought Paradise became too great in their own estimation. Fear of the Fire brought them to tears. Truly, whoever does not find solace in Allah's consolation, his soul will be cut off from the world in regret. And whoever does not see a favor from Allah except in food or drink, his—I believe Ibn al-Mubarak said—his knowledge has diminished, and his punishment is present."

15346 - My father narrated to us, ‘Abdah ibn Sulayman reported to us, Ibn al-Mubarak reported to us, Muhammad ibn Sulaym reported to us, Qatadah reported to us, regarding His saying: "...walk upon the earth easily," he said: "Out of humility before Allah, because of His greatness; they would not act in ignorance towards those who were ignorant."

15347 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Abbad ibn Zakariyya reported to us, Yahya ibn Yaman reported to us, from Usamah ibn Zayd, from Zayd ibn Aslam, regarding: "...walk upon the earth easily," he said: "They do not commit corruption."

15348 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj reported to us, he said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah: "...walk upon the earth easily," he said: "They do not act arrogantly towards the people, they do not act tyrannically, and they do not cause corruption upon the earth."
