Translation · EN

15357 - My father narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Sulayman al-Wasiti reported to us, Mubarak reported to us, from al-Hasan: "And when the ignorant address them, they say, 'peace'," he said: "They are forbearing; they do not behave ignorantly, and if ignorance is displayed towards them, they are forbearing. They keep company with the servants of Allah during their day, from what you hear, then he mentioned their night as the best of nights."

15358 - ‘Ubayd ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Hamzah reported to me in what he wrote to me, Abu al-Jumahir reported to us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir reported to us, Qatadah reported regarding His saying: "And when the ignorant address them, they say, 'peace'," he said: "People of modesty and nobility; they forgive and conceal."

His saying, the Exalted: "And those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrating and standing."

15359 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah reported to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "And those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrating and standing," he said: "It means they pray at night, and in that, they are prostrating and standing."

15360 - Al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Ishaq reported to us, Abu al-Ashhab reported to us, al-Hasan reported: "And those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrating and standing," he said: "This is their night when they are alone between themselves and their Lord; they rest from their extremities."

15361 - My father narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Sulayman al-Wasiti reported to us, Mubarak reported to us, from al-Hasan: "And those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrating and standing," he said: "They stand for Allah on their feet and spread their faces as prostrating before their Lord, their tears flowing down their cheeks in fear of their Lord." Al-Hasan said: "It is for a reason that their night is spent awake, and it is for a reason that their day is spent in humility."

15362 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ reported to us, Sa‘id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "...spending the night before their Lord, prostrating and standing," it was mentioned to us that the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) used to say: "Perform some of this night [in prayer], even if it be two or four rak‘ahs."

His saying, the Exalted: "And those who say, 'Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell; indeed, its punishment is ever engaging (gharama).'"

15363 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Shayban ibn Farrukh reported to us, Abu al-Ashhab reported to us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "Indeed, its punishment is ever engaging," he said: "Know that every creditor is separated from his debtor, except the creditor of Hell."
