15433 - 'Amr ibn Rafi' reported to us, Hushaym reported to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan al-Basri regarding: "then those—Allah will replace their evil deeds with good deeds," he said: The replacement is in this world; Allah replaced their evil deeds with righteous deeds, and replaced their shirk (polytheism) with sincerity, replaced their immorality with chastity, and replaced their disbelief with faith and Islam.
15434 - My father narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Rafi' reported to us, Ya'qub ibn 'Abd Allah al-Ash'ari reported to us, from Ja'far, from Sa'id regarding: "then those—Allah will replace their evil deeds with good deeds," he said: He replaced their worship of idols with the worship of Allah, and replaced their fighting against the Muslims with fighting alongside the Muslims against the polytheists, and replaced their marriage to polytheistic women with marriage to believing women.
15435 - Ahmad ibn 'Isam narrated to us, Abu 'Asim reported to us, Sahl ibn Abi al-Salt reported to us, he said: I heard al-Hasan say regarding: "then those—Allah will replace their evil deeds with good deeds," he said: This does not refer to you; this refers to the people of shirk.
15436 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn Qaza'ah reported to us, Husayn ibn Numayr reported to us, Husayn ibn 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, from Maysarah Abu Jamilah regarding His saying: "then those—Allah will replace their evil deeds with good deeds," he said: They are those who entered into Islam from among the polytheists.
15437 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb informed us, a man reported to me, from 'Amr ibn al-Harith, that 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah said regarding the saying of Allah: "then those—Allah will replace their evil deeds with good deeds," he said: This is only in this world; a man who is in an ugly state, then Allah replaces it for him with good.
15438 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid al-Bayruti informed us by way of reading, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb informed me, Sa'id ibn Bashir informed us, from Qatadah regarding: "then those—Allah will replace their evil deeds with good deeds," he said: The remembrance of Allah after having forgotten Him, and obedience to Allah after having disobeyed Him.

15439 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salamah and 'Arim reported to us, they said: Thabit, i.e., ibn Yazid Abu Zayd, reported to us, 'Isam reported to us, from Abu 'Uthman, from Salman, he said: A man will be given a scroll on the Day of Resurrection, and he will read its upper part, and behold, it contains his evil deeds. When he is distressed, he will look at its lower part, and behold, it contains good deeds. Then he will look at its upper part, and behold, they have been replaced with good deeds.
