15489 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yahya ibn Isma'il reported to us, al-Walid ibn Jabir reported to us, he said: I asked Makhul about the saying of Allah: "And make us for the righteous an example [Imam]," he said: Leaders in piety so that we may follow those who were before us and those who are after us may follow us. It was narrated from al-Hasan, Qatadah, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, and al-Suddi something similar to that.
15490 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Sa'id ibn al-Walid al-Khuza'i reported to us, Waki' reported to us, from al-Nadr ibn 'Arabi, from 'Ikrimah regarding His saying: "And make us for the righteous an example [Imam]," he said: A model.
15491 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "And make us for the righteous an example [Imam]," meaning: Make us leaders in goodness, [who] worship You, our Lord. Then He informed [us] of their reward.
15492 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Yahya ibn Ayyub al-Zahid reported to us, he said: I heard Abu Hafs al-Abbar saying: I said to al-Suddi: I saw you in a dream as if you were leading the people in prayer. He said: So he said: Indeed, His saying: "And make us for the righteous an example [Imam]," is not for a man to lead the people in prayer; rather, they said: Make us leaders for them in the lawful and the prohibited, for them to follow us in that.
15493 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amir ibn Zurarah al-Hadrami reported to us, Sa'id ibn Khaytham reported to us, from al-Qasim ibn al-Arqam, he said: I said to Ja'far ibn Muhammad: Does a man say in prayer, "O Allah, make me for the righteous an example [Imam]"? He said: Yes, and do you know what that is? He said: I said: No. He said: He says: O Allah, make me acceptable among the Muslims, and when I speak, let them believe me and accept that from me.
His saying, the Exalted: "Those"
15494 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "Those," meaning those who are in these verses. And regarding His saying: "will be rewarded," meaning in the Hereafter.
His saying, the Exalted: "The Chamber [al-Ghurfah]"
15495 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Khalid reported to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak regarding: "Those will be rewarded the Chamber [al-Ghurfah]," he said: The Chamber is Paradise. It was narrated from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn 'Ali, and al-Suddi the same as that.
١٥٤٨٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ مَكْحُولا، عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا قَالَ: أَئِمَّةٌ فِي التَّقْوَى حَتَّى نَأْتَمَّ بِمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا وَيَأْتَمُّ بِنَا مَنْ بَعْدَنَا وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَقَتَادَةَ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَالسُّدِّيِّ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
١٥٤٩٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا قَالَ: مِثَالا.
١٥٤٩١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا يَعْنِى اجْعَلْنَا أَئِمَّةً فِي الْخَيْرِ نَعْبُدُكَ رَبَّنَا فَأَخْبَرَ بِثَوَابِهِمْ.
١٥٤٩٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الزَّاهِدُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَفْصٍ الأَبَّارَ يَقُولُ: قُلْتُ لِلسُّدِّيِّ رَأَيْتُكَ فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّكَ تَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ قَالَ: فَقَالَ: إِنَّ قَوْلَهُ: وَاجْعَلنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا لَيْسَ أَنْ يَؤُمَّ الرَّجُلُ النَّاسَ، إِنَّمَا قَالُوا: اجْعَلْنَا أَئِمَّةً لَهُمْ فِي الْحَلالِ وَالْحَرَامِ يَقْتَدُونَ بِنَا فِيهِ.
١٥٤٩٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا سعيد بن خيثم، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ الأَرْقَمَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ يَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ فِي الصَّلاةِ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا قَالَ: نَعَمْ وَتَدْرِي مَا ذَاكَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لَا. قَالَ:
يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ رَضِيًّا، وَإِذَا قُلْتُ صَدَّقُونِي وَقَبِلُوا ذَاكَ مِنِّي.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أُولَئِكَ
١٥٤٩٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: أُولَئِكَ يَعْنِي الَّذِينَ فِي هَؤُلاءِ الآيَاتِ وَفِي قَوْلِهِ: يُجْزَوْنَ يَعْنِى فِي الآخِرَةِ.
قوله تعالى: الْغُرْفَةَ
١٥٤٩٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو خَالِدٍ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ:
أُولَئِكَ يُجْزَوْنَ الْغُرْفَةَ قَالَ: الْغُرْفَةُ الْجَنَّةُ- وَرُوِِىِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَالسُّدِّيِّ مِثْلُ ذلك.
