15510 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Rabi' al-Zahrani reported to us, Abu Qutaybah reported to us, Sa'id ibn Adham ibn Tarif al-Sadusi reported to us, he said: I heard Salman Abu 'Abd Allah say: I prayed behind 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr, and he recited: "For the disbelievers have denied, and it shall be a binding penalty."

15511 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Munib reported to us, Abu Mu'adh reported to us, from 'Ubayd ibn Sulayman, from al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "For you have denied [the truth]"—the disbelievers denied the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) in what he brought from Allah.

15512 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah reported to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik: "And it shall be a binding penalty"—on the Day of Badr. Similar was narrated from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, Mujahid, Qatadah, and al-Dahhak.

15513 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray', reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah: "And it shall be a binding penalty," he said: Al-Hasan used to say that [it will be] on the Day of Resurrection.

And the third view:

15514 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn Salih al-Wuhazi reported to us, Abu Ma'shar reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b regarding His saying: "binding penalty," he said: Death.

15515 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali reported to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "it shall be a binding penalty," he said: The binding penalty is the slaughter that befell them on the Day of Badr.

15516 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Haytham ibn Yaman reported to us, a man reported to us whom he named, from al-Suddi: "And it shall be a binding penalty," he says: A punishment, and the Day of Badr was the punishment.
