His saying: "Indeed, We are with you, listening."

15553 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tihrani Muhammad ibn Hammad narrated to us, in what he wrote to me: Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim informed us, from 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil, who said: I heard Wahb say: He [Allah] said to Moses, meaning his Lord, the Almighty and Majestic: "I have placed you today in a station that no human after you should ever occupy. I have drawn you near and brought you close until you heard My speech, and you were in the closest of places to Me. So, go forth with My message, for you are under My sight and hearing, and with you are My might and My vision." His saying, Exalted is He: "Then go to Pharaoh and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of the Lord of the worlds.'"

15554 - Muhammad ibn 'Ammar ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Sahl ibn Bakkar reported to us, Abu 'Awanah reported to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Miqsam, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: Moses entered upon Pharaoh wearing a coarse wool garment that did not pass his elbows. Permission was sought for him to enter upon Pharaoh, so he said: "Let him in." He entered and said: "Indeed, my Lord has sent me to you." He [Pharaoh] said to the people around him: "I do not know of any god for you other than me." He said: "Seize him."

15555 - 'Ammar ibn Khalid al-Wasiti narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Wasiti and Yazid ibn Harun reported to us—and the wording is Muhammad's—from Asbagh ibn Zayd al-Warraq, from al-Qasim ibn Abi Ayyub, Sa'id ibn Jubayr informed me, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: Then they both departed and stayed at his door for a while without being given permission to enter, then they were given permission after a severe barrier. They said: "Indeed, we are the messengers of your Lord." He said: "And who is your Lord, O Moses?" So they informed him of what Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has related in the Qur'an.

It was also mentioned from al-Suddi that when Moses arrived at his mother's house in Egypt on the night of the 'Tufshil' (the night of his return), he and Aaron went, and this has been written more than once, and it was also mentioned otherwise, written in another place.

His saying: "That you send with us the Children of Israel."

15556 - By this chain, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: Pharaoh said to Moses and Aaron: "What do you want?" And he mentioned the slain person. He [Moses] apologized with what you have heard, so he [Moses] said: "I want you to believe in Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, and to send the Children of Israel with me."

His saying: "He said, 'Did we not raise you among us as a child?'"

15557 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Did we not raise you among us as a child?" He said: The people of Pharaoh took him in, so he was raised among them."
