15662 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, from 'Abd Allah ibn Shaddad ibn al-Had al-Laythi who said: The companions of Moses said: "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!" He said: "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me to salvation. He has promised me that, and there is no failing the promise of Allah."
15663 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Musaffa reported to us, Baqiyyah reported to us, Nasr ibn Shurahbil reported to us, from the elders who said: When Moses met Pharaoh, it is said: Moses commanded Joshua ibn Nun and his companions to darken their heads and their beards.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then We inspired to Moses"
15664 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan ibn Salih reported to us, al-Walid reported to us, Muhammad ibn Hamzah ibn Yusuf ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Salam reported to us that when Moses—peace be upon him—reached the sea, he said: "O He who was before all things, the Creator of all things, and who will remain after all things, make for us a way out." Then Allah inspired to him: "Strike the sea with your staff."
15665 - My father narrated to us, Ibn Abi 'Umar reported to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Abu Sa'd al-A'war, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas who said: Pharaoh went out with one million horses, besides the females, and Moses—peace be upon him—went out with the Children of Israel, who were six hundred thousand. Pharaoh said: "Indeed, these are but a small band." When Moses reached the sea and Pharaoh followed him, his young man asked him, "Where are you heading?" Allah the Almighty and Majestic had inspired to him to strike the sea with his staff, and Allah had inspired to the sea: "Moses will strike you, so when he strikes you, hear him and obey." The sea passed that night in a state of trembling—meaning shuddering—not knowing from which side Moses would strike it. His young man, Joshua ibn Nun, said to him: "O Moses, where has your Lord commanded you?" He said: "He commanded me to strike the sea." He said: "Then strike it."
15666 - Abu Bujayr Muhammad ibn Jabir al-Muharibi narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr ibn Abi Umayyah reported to us, from Ya'qub, from Ja'far ibn Abi al-Mughirah, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr who said: The sea was calm and did not move, but when the night came that Moses struck it with his staff, it began to surge and roar.
15667 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah Raja' reported to us, Isra'il informed us, from Abu Ishaq, from 'Amr ibn Maymun who said: When Moses reached the sea, his deputy said to him: "O Prophet of Allah, where have you been commanded to go?" He said: "Here."
١٥٦٦٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادِ بْنِ الْهَادِ اللَّيْثِيِّ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُوسَى إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ قَالَ: كَلا إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ إِلَى النَّجَاةِ قَدْ وَعَدَنِي ذَلِكَ وَلا خُلْفَ لِمَوْعِدِهِ.
١٥٦٦٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ، ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ شُرَحْبِيلَ، عَنِ الْمَشْيَخَةِ قَالَ لَمَّا لَقِيَ مُوسَى فِرْعَوْنَ قَالَ: أَمَرَ مُوسَى يُوشَعَ بْنَ نُونٍ وَأَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يُسَوِّدُوا رؤوسهم وَلِحَاهُمْ

١٥٦٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعْدٍ الأَعْوَرِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ خَرَجَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِي أَلْفِ أَلْفِ حِصَانٍ سِوَى الإِنَاثِ، وَخَرَجَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فِي سِتِّمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ إِنَّ هَؤُلاءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مُوسَى الْبَحْرَ وَاتَّبَعَهُ فِرْعَوْنُ قَالَ لَهُ فَتَاهُ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ؟ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَوْحَى إِلَيْهِ أَنِ اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الْبَحْرَ وَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى الْبَحْرِ أَنَّ مُوسَى سَيَضْرِبُكَ فَإِذَا ضَرْبَكَ فَاسْمَعْ لَهُ وَأَطِعْ فَبَاتَ الْبَحْرُ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ وَلَهُ أَفْكَلٌ يَعْنِى رِعْدَةً لَا يَدْرِي مِنْ أَيِّ جَوَانِبِهِ يَضْرِبُ مُوسَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ فَتَاهُ يُوشَعُ بْنُ نُونٍ: يَا مُوسَى أَيْنَ أَمَرَكَ رَبُّكَ قَالَ:
أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَضْرِبَ الْبَحْرَ قَالَ: فَاضْرِبْهُ.
١٥٦٦٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بُجَيْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبُ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ: كَانَ الْبَحْرُ سَاكِنًا لَا يَتَحَرَّكُ فَلَمَّا كَانَ لَيْلَةَ ضَرَبَهُ مُوسَى بِالْعَصَا صَارَ يَمُدُّ وَيَزجْرُ.
١٥٦٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ رَجَاءٍ أَنْبَأَ إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ لَمَّا انْتَهَى مُوسَى إِلَى الْبَحْرِ قَالَ لَهُ وَصِيُّهُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَيْنَ أُمِرْتَ قَالَ: هَاهُنَا
