Volume 8 · Page 345[Surat al-Shu'ara (26): Verses 108–109]

Translation · EN

Until Noah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) complained of this state of their affairs to Allah the Almighty, and said: as Allah related to us in His Book.

His saying: "So fear Allah and obey me, and I do not ask you for any reward for it."

15768 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith reported to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And I do not ask you for any reward for it," he says: [any] compensation from the compensation of the world.

15769 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi narrated to us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman saying regarding the saying of Allah: "And I do not ask you for any reward for it," he says: I do not ask you for any reward for the Qur'an.

His saying the Almighty: "My reward is only upon the Lord of the worlds."

15770 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "My reward is only upon Allah," he said: My compensation.

[His saying: "So fear Allah and obey me"]

Its interpretation has preceded.

His saying: "Shall we believe you while the lowest people follow you?"

15771 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Shall we believe you while the lowest people follow you?" He says: The dregs of the people and their vilest ones.

15772 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Nubatah al-Sarri reported to us, Abu 'Asim al-Nabil reported to us, 'Isa ibn Maymun reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And the lowest people follow you," he said: The weavers.

His saying the Almighty: "He said: And what is my knowledge of what they used to do?"

15773 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi narrated to us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh informed us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd regarding the saying of Allah: "They used to do," he said: "They used to do" and "they used to craft" are one and the same.
