15788 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Hisham al-Ramli reported to us, Damrah ibn Rabi'ah reported to us, from Matar, who said: There were seven with Noah in the ship: Noah, his three sons, and his three daughters-in-law.

15789 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah reported to us, Salamah reported to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq reported: There is nothing on the face of the earth of creation that possesses a soul, nor trees; nothing of the creatures remained except Noah and those with him in the Ark, and 'Uj ibn 'Anaq—according to what the People of the Scripture claim. 'Uj ibn Sayhan, whose mother was 'Anaq, was a tyrant; Allah created him as He wished to create him. His mother, 'Anaq, was one of the daughters of Adam, and she was, according to what they claim, among the most beautiful of people. As for the People of the Scripture, they say something regarding his birth that we do not wish to repeat. They claim that the clouds would be at the level of his loincloth, and that he would lower his hand and take a whale from the bottom of the sea, then roast it with his hand near the sun until it was cooked, then he would eat it. His lifespan was three thousand and six hundred years; he was born in the time of Adam and lived until Musa ibn 'Imran, peace be upon him, killed him.

His saying, the Almighty: "in the Ark (al-fulk)."

15790 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa reported to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik regarding "the laden Ark," he said: A ship in which he carried two of every pair. It was also narrated from Abu Salih, al-Dahhak, and Qatadah that it was Noah's ship.

15791 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah reported to us, Shadhan reported to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from 'Ali ibn Zayd, from Yusuf ibn Mihran, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: The length of Noah's ship, peace be upon him, was four hundred cubits, and its height into the sky was thirty cubits. The discussion regarding this has already preceded.

His saying: "the laden (al-mashhun)."

15792 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl reported to us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: Do you know what "the laden" (al-mashhun) is? We said: No. He said: It is the fully-loaded one. A similar statement was narrated from Qatadah.
