13804 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) regarding His saying: "Whoever thinks that Allah will not help him," he says: "Whoever thinks that Allah will not provide him with sustenance, 'let him extend a rope to the sky,' meaning let him take a rope and tie it to the ceiling of his house, then let him strangle himself with it. 'Then let him look whether his effort will remove that which enrages him,'" he said: "Let him look whether that will benefit him or bring him any provision?"
13805 - From Ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the verse, he said: "Whoever thinks that Allah will not help His Prophet and struggles against this matter to cut it off from him, let him cut that [revelation] from its source until it reaches him, for its source is in the heaven. 'Then let him cut,' meaning from the Prophet the revelation that comes to him from Allah, if he is able."
13806 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "Whoever thinks that Allah will not help him," he says: "Whoever thinks that Allah will not help His religion, let him extend a rope to the sky, the ceiling of the house, and let him strangle himself, then let him see what that will yield for him."
His saying, the Almighty: "And the Sabians and the Christians."
13807 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Indeed, those who have believed [the verse]," he said: "The Sabians are a people who worship the angels, face the qibla, and read the Psalms. The Magians are the worshipers of the sun, the moon, and fire. As for those who associated others with Allah, they are the idol worshipers. 'Indeed, Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection,'" he said: "The religions are six: five belong to the Shaytan, and one religion belongs to Allah, the Almighty."
His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, Allah will judge between them."
13808 - From Ikrimah regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah will judge between them," he said: "He will judge between them with His decree. He made Paradise common [for believers] and made this nation one."
13809 - From Ikrimah (may Allah be pleased with him) he said: "The Jews said: 'Uzayr is the son of Allah.' The Christians said: 'The Messiah is the son of Allah.' The Sabians said: 'We worship the angels instead of Allah.' The Magians said: 'We worship the sun and the moon instead of Allah.' The polytheists said: 'We worship the idols instead of Allah.' So Allah inspired His Prophet to refute their claim: 'Say, He is Allah, [who is] One' until the end of the surah, and 'Say, Praise to Allah, who has not taken a son,' and Allah revealed: 'Indeed, those who have believed and those who were Jews and the Sabians and the Christians and the Magians.'"
