meaning by unkemptness (al-tafath): ending their state of ihram through shaving the head, putting on clothes, clipping the nails, and the like. 'And let them fulfill their vows,' he said: It is Hajj.
13902 - From Mujahid, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding 'Then let them complete their unkemptness,' he said: Shaving the head, the pubic hair, plucking the armpit hair, trimming the mustache and nails, stoning the Jamarat, and trimming the beard. 'And let them fulfill their vows,' he said: It is Hajj. (1)
13903 - From Mujahid, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: 'And let them circumambulate,' he said: It is the obligatory circumambulation (Tawaf) on the Day of Sacrifice. (2)
13904 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he said: 'The Ancient House' (al-Bayt al-Atiq), because it was liberated from the tyrants. (3)
13905 - From Mujahid, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: 'It was only named the Ancient House because it was liberated from the tyrants; no tyrant has ever seized it.' In another phrasing: 'There is no tyrant on earth who can claim it is his.'
13906 - From Mujahid, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: 'It was only named the Ancient House because no one ever intended it with evil but that he was destroyed.' (4)
13907 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: 'It was only named the Ancient House because it was liberated from drowning during the time of Noah.' (5)
13908 - From al-Hasan, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: 'It was only named the Ancient (al-Atiq) because it is the first house that was established.' (6)
13909 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he said: 'When this verse was revealed: "And let them circumambulate the Ancient House," the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, circumambulated behind it.' (7)
13910 - From Abu Jamra, he said: Ibn Abbas said to me: 'Do you read Surah al-Hajj? Allah says: "And let them circumambulate the Ancient House." He said: Indeed, the final ritual is the circumambulation of the House.' (8)
His saying, the Almighty: 'That [is so]. And whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allah'
13911 - From Mujahid, regarding His saying: 'That [is so]. And whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allah,' he said: 'The sacred ordinances are the Hajj, the Umrah, and all of those acts of disobedience that Allah has forbidden.'

يَعْنِي بالتفث: وضع إحرامهم مِنْ حلق الرأس، ولبس الثياب، وقص الأظفار ونحو ذَلِكَ وَلْيُوفُوا نُذُورَهُمْ قَالَ: هُوَ الحج.
١٣٩٠٢ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ رَضِيَ الله عنه قال: ليقضوا تفثهم قال: حلق الرأس والعانة ونتف الإبط وقص الشارب والأظفار، ورمي الجمار، وقص اللحية وَلْيُوفُوا نُذُورَهُمْ قَالَ: الحج «١» .
١٣٩٠٣ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا قَالَ: هُوَ الطواف الواجب يَوْم النحر «٢» .
١٣٩٠٤ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: البيت العتيق، لأنه أعتق مِنَ الجبابرة «٣» .
١٣٩٠٥ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: إنما سمي البيت العتيق لأنه أعتق مِنَ الجبابرة لم يذعه جبار قط. وفي لفظ: فليس في الأرض جبار يدعي أنه له.
١٣٩٠٦ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: إنما سمي البيت العتيق، لأنه لَمْ يرده أحد بسوء إلا هلك «٤» .
١٣٩٠٧ - عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: إنما سمي البيت العتيق، لأنه أعتق مِنَ الغرق في زمان نوح «٥» .
١٣٩٠٨ - عَنِ الحَسَنِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: إنما سمي العتيق، لأنه أول بيت وضع «٦» .
١٣٩٠٩ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: لما نَزَلَتْ هذه الآية وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا بِالْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ طَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ ورائه «٧» .
١٣٩١٠ - عَنِ أبى جمرة قَالَ: قَالَ لي ابن عباس: أتقرأ سُورَة الحج؟ يَقُولُ الله:
وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا بِالْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ قَالَ: فإن آخر المناسك الطواف بالبيت «٨» .
قَوْلهُ تَعَالَى: ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ
١٣٩١١ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: الحرمة الحج والعمرة وما نهى الله عنه من معاصيه كلها.
